What do I need?
- Online application and a photo, 3.5 by 4.5 cm
- Passport copy
- Graduation certificate of your last school with an apostille or Korean consular confirmation (CHSI for China)
- Bank balance certificate, original with the bank stamp
- Proof of what you did if you graduated six months or more ago, or an employment certificate
- Parents' financial support papers if you are from a country on the Ministry of Justice list (see the note below)
THE BANK BALANCE IS 10,000,000 WON OR MORE in your or your parents' name, issued within 30 days, kept during the course. Vietnam and Uzbekistan: a Korean bank's local branch certificate held three months or more.
Application fee 120,000 won, not refunded. Tuition is reset each spring term and settled at the new rate even if paid early.
Refunds in 2026: full before the start, then 1,560,000 in days 1 to 7 down to nothing from day 41. A visa refusal before the start refunds all tuition minus the application fee.
Dormitory: Frontier Hall on campus, double room, 1,450,000 won a term, first term only, new students only.

All requirements
- FOR A D-4 VISA YOU REGISTER AND PAY FOR TWO TERMS (about six months) at once; one term gets no visa. Vietnamese, Mongolian and Uzbek nationals register four terms (one year)
- Winter 2026 D-4 applicants: originals must arrive by 14 October 2026, two weeks before the deadline. Applications may close early when full
- To pass levels 1 to 4 you need an overall C (70) and 80% attendance (160 hours); levels 5, 6 and top level need 60 in every subject. You cannot re-enrol after attendance under 60% or failing a level three times
- Part-time work is allowed only after six months in Korea and not with attendance below 90%. Extensions may be refused under 70% attendance
- Level 5 or 6 here earns a Challenge Scholarship (300,000 or 500,000 won) on a Korea University undergraduate admission and counts as language proof to apply
- Fee cuts, one only: 20% for Korea University students and for diplomats; 10% for siblings or spouses enrolling together and for children of alumni or staff
