What do I need?
- Application form, study plan and financial guarantee form (the school's own forms); 2 ID photos (white background, taken within 6 months); passport copy
- Final school certificate with local notarisation and consular confirmation (the English version of the guide also takes an apostille), and the original transcript for that schooling
- Health certificate (tuberculosis)
- Financial proof: a bank balance certificate. The centre's own papers print three different amounts, so read the notes and ask the office first
- Family register and ID copies of you and both parents; proof of your parents' employment and income
- Application fee 100,000 won
THE BANK BALANCE: THE CENTRE'S OWN PAPERS DISAGREE. The application form (file dated 27 February 2026, the newest, in the ZIP the admission page serves today) asks for a sponsor's bank statement of USD 9,000 or more.
The guide PDF (made 14 May 2025) says 8,000,000 won or more in your own name. The Korean admission web page (undated) says USD 10,000 or more in your own name; the English page says only "Over $10,000".
Ask the office which of the three applies before you get the certificate.
Fees are paid after final acceptance and may change slightly: tuition 2,400,000 won per 20 weeks (4,800,000 won a year); application fee 100,000 won; textbooks 184,000 won a year; insurance 130,000 won a year.
National health insurance, about 70,000 won a month, applies from 6 months after entry (guide).
Dormitory: about 1,100,000 won per 20 weeks (2,200,000 won a year), as of May 2025; it may change by term. Meals are extra: a meal ticket is 4,900 to 6,500 won a meal.
To move into the dormitory you hand in a health certificate that includes hepatitis and tuberculosis items.
The guide's US dollar figures are approximations and its English version misprints one, so only the won figures are shown here.

All requirements
- Regular entry for general language trainees (D-4) is in the Spring and Fall terms only. People who already hold another visa (the guide gives F-2 as an example) are not bound by that
- Papers for the Spring term are due by the end of December every year, and for the Fall term by the end of June every year. No opening dates are printed, and Summer and Winter show no intake deadline
- Terms follow a yearly pattern: Spring early March to early May; Summer early May to mid-July; Fall early September to early November; Winter early November to mid-January. Each is 10 weeks and 200 hours
- NO DATED ROUND IS SHOWN HERE: the guide (PDF made 14 May 2025, in a folder named for 2026) prints only that yearly pattern, and no dated 2027 calendar was posted on 12 October 2026. Ask the office for the exact Spring 2027 deadline
- Classes: 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday, about 15 students a class, placed by a Korean level test
- Grades (guide): mid-term 40%, final 40%, attitude and ongoing assessment 10%, attendance 10%. The undated web pages say mid-term 45%, final 45%, ongoing 10%
- To move up and to complete a level: 80% attendance or more and an average of 70 points or more
- Degree entry: only people with TOPIK 3 or higher, or who completed the centre's Level 4 class, can apply to Kyungnam degree courses
- Extras in the guide: a free TOPIK preparation class and cultural activities. No scholarship for language trainees is printed
- How to apply: scan every paper and e-mail it to global@kyungnam.ac.kr, or post it or bring it to the Office of International Services, Changjo-gwan 1st floor. The contact table in the same guide prints global@uok.ac.kr
- Steps: papers in, review and result, pay the fees, then the school sends the standard admission letter and you apply for the language training visa yourself at the Korean consulate in your country
- The admission page warns that the papers differ by nationality and visa status, so ask before you apply: admission +82-55-249-2016, classes +82-55-249-2197
