What can I study?

Published by Myongji University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Online application printed and signed in two places, with the study plan (Korean for Korean-taught programmes, English for English-taught) and the consent forms
• A recommendation letter from your previous supervising professor on Myongji's form (no company letters); PhD applicants add the master's thesis cover and contents
• Degree certificates with authentication (apostille, consular, or CHSI and CDGDC for China; Korean graduates the degree certificate only) and transcripts with a grading-scale statement, notarised translation if needed
• TOPIK 4 (3 for arts), or the English score for English-taught programmes
• Passport copy, alien registration card if in Korea, ID copies of you and both parents, and a birth or family relation certificate (China: notarised hukou)
• Arts: portfolio (piano two pieces of different periods, about 30 minutes; voice one aria and two art songs; composition three works from the last four years); employment certificate if you work

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON in your own name, issued within 30 days, filed after tuition and before the admission letter (China: three months of freeze left; Vietnam six months). The notes page prints 10,000,000 for Myongji graduates in Korea. Research-scholarship students file the supervisor's guarantee plus their own proof.

Application fee 100,000 won to the university's Hana Bank account, receipt to [email protected].

Entrance fee 970,000 won once. Dormitory: Seoul four-person 1,111,300 won a semester without meals, Yongin 1,128,200 with 50 meal tickets; not for round 3.

All requirements

• A bachelor's (master's or integrated course) or a master's (PhD) held or expected by February 2027; certificates and authentication must arrive by 28 February 2027. You and both parents foreign nationals
• KOREAN-TAUGHT DEPARTMENTS, one of: TOPIK 4 (TOPIK 3 for arts and sports); a Korean-language degree; level 4 on Myongji's own test (50,000 won, 25 October) with a TOPIK score within six months of entry
• Also accepted: a King Sejong certificate at TOPIK 4 level; KIIP completion; or the department head's approval with the OIA dean's consent, then two semesters of the OIA Korean course (100 hours each) or TOPIK 4 within a year
• ENGLISH: TOEFL iBT 71 (PBT 530), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or New TEPS 327 for the English-taught departments, or an English-official-language nationality with English-medium university study
• Departments marked E teach at least half in English: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science Informatics and the Yongin engineering departments
• The E mark admits on an English score only research-scholarship applicants who first agreed a supervisor, or English-track applicants; others need the Korean rule
• Selection: document screening plus an interview (video from abroad, video or in person in Korea); missing the interview is an automatic fail
• Research-scholarship applicants consult the supervising professor before applying. Transfers (master's semesters 2 to 3, PhD 2 to 4) only from Korean graduate schools
• Foreigner-only departments differ: MBA, MPA, Education and International Architecture master's are 30 credits, no thesis; admits under the department head's approval take the two-semester Korean course (1,400,000 won)
• Foreigner-only PhD students need TOPIK 3 before the thesis proposal
• Degree rules: master's 24 credits in four semesters, PhD 36 credits in six, integrated 60 credits in eight; thesis review 200,000 won (master's) or 820,000 (PhD)
