What can I study?

Published by Myongji University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application printed from the portal with four signatures (you twice, mother, father)
• Your passport copy, and your alien registration card if you live in Korea
• Both parents' passports or national IDs, and a birth or family relation certificate (China: hukou)
• Korean-track Korean proof, or English-track English proof
• High school graduation certificate with apostille or consular authentication (CHSI report for China; not needed for Korean high schools) and the transcript
• Transfers: university graduation or completion certificate, authenticated, and a notarised transcript
• Applicants in Korea: the full attendance record of your language institute (under 80% average attendance is not accepted)
• Portfolio for Creative Writing and the Sports and Arts departments except Film: five to ten design works, sports certificates, or the set music pieces and videos

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON, in your or a parent's name at a foreign bank if you apply from abroad, or in your own name at a Korean bank if you study at another school in Korea; 10,000,000 in your own name for Myongji D-4 and D-2 students. Issued within 30 days, filed after tuition and before the visa.

Country rules: Chinese fixed deposits (Agricultural, Construction, ICBC, Bank of China) need two months of freeze left; Vietnam four months; Uzbekistan a Korean bank's local branch with the balance held three months or more.

Application fee 110,000 won to the university's Hana Bank account; e-mail the remittance date, sender name and receipt to [email protected].

Dormitory 2026 basis: Seoul four-person room 1,111,300 won a 16-week semester without meals; Yongin four-person 1,128,200 with 50 meal tickets. Rooms and tuition may rise about 5% in 2027.

All requirements

• You and BOTH parents are foreign nationals (nationality gained before high school counts); dual nationals cannot apply
• You graduated (or will) from an accredited high school. An equivalency exam, homeschooling, online or correspondence schooling do NOT count
• KOREAN, one of: TOPIK 3; level 3 at a Korean university language institute; level 3 on Myongji's own test (80,000 won, sign up 8 to 16 October, test 25 October 2026); King Sejong intermediate 1 (not if you live in Korea)
• Global Korean Studies (Yongin, foreigners only) takes TOPIK 2, institute level 2 or level 3 on the Myongji test. Global Business Studies (Seoul) is taught in Chinese with no Korean requirement; Film year-4 transfers likewise
• ENGLISH TRACK, Global Smart Infrastructure Engineering (Yongin): TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 5.5, or an English-official-language nationality with English-medium schooling. It admits in the FALL semester only, not in Spring 2027
• Interview after each round: in person in Korea, by video from abroad. TOPIK 4 is needed to graduate (3 for the College of Sports and Arts); English and Chinese tracks are exempt
• Chemistry and Life Science, Smart Systems Engineering and Semiconductor and ICT colleges take only students who had mathematics and science as required high school subjects
• Transfers: year 2 after one year (two semesters) at a four-year university or a junior college degree; year 3 after two years; year 4 only through inter-university agreements (Global Business and Film: three-year same-major graduates)
• A dormitory place can be requested by round 1 and 2 applicants only; scores earned after applying can be filed until 19 February 2027 and the scholarship difference is refunded in March
