What do I need?
- Online application through Study in Korea (studyinkorea.go.kr). The institute's 2026 application form (a Word file) is on its site
- THE LIST BELOW IS FROM THE UNDATED ADMISSION PAGE, the only list the institute prints. No dated document has one, so confirm it with the institute before you send papers
- Application form (download from the page) and a passport copy
- Graduation certificate and transcript of your last school, each with an apostille or consular confirmation
- Family relation certificate or birth certificate, with an apostille or consular confirmation; copies of your parents' passports or ID cards
- Parents' certificate of employment showing total income and the employer's phone number, with an apostille or consular confirmation. Self-employed parents: business registration and proof of assets
- Bank balance certificate showing 10,000 US dollars or more, in a parent's or your own name
- If you are studying now: certificate of enrolment and transcript. If you are working now: certificate of employment. Each with an apostille or consular confirmation
- The page prints one more line, given here as printed: applicants from Vietnam add the parents' financial guarantee for study abroad
THE BANK BALANCE IS PRINTED IN US DOLLARS: a balance certificate of 10,000 US dollars or more, in a parent's or your own name (undated admission page). No won figure is printed.
The fee page (undated) also tells applicants abroad to send 5,000 US dollars or more to the school first and file the remittance slip. It says this covers 4 months of institute tuition only, not dormitory, food or insurance.
Neither of those two pages mentions the other, so ask the institute which of the two applies to you.
TUITION IS UNCERTAIN: the Korean and English fee pages print 1,300,000 won a term (200 hours), and the English calendar page prints 1,200,000 won a term. All three are undated. No application fee is printed anywhere.
Dormitory: the institute page (undated) prints 600,000 to 750,000 won for 3 months, which matches neither dormitory table.
The dormitory office table from the first semester of 2026 lists Seojaepill Hall two-person rooms at 880,000 won and Giphyun Hall four-person rooms at 550,000 won a semester.
The 2026 application form offers those two halls and prints them as "Seojaepill Hall (female)" and "Giphyun Hall (female & male)". The dormitory office table lists Seojaepill Hall for men and women, so ask which applies to you.
Contacts (undated contact page): language course admission +82-42-520-5672; institute office +82-42-520-5180; certificates and visas 5731. The international office page gives 5731 for questions about the Korean course.
From the official guide. The school decides what it accepts, not Waegook.
All requirements
- NO DATED GUIDE. The institute posts no dated admission guide, fee guide or term calendar for 2026 or 2027, and its notice board has nothing newer than 3 January 2025. Each line below says where it is printed
- From the university overview of September 2026 (dated): levels 1 to 6, 12 to 15 students a class, four terms a year, 800 class hours a year, a 6-week TOPIK class before each TOPIK test, and culture trips
- Terms (undated Korean pages): 10 weeks and 200 hours each, 5 days a week, 4 hours a day, starting in March, June, September and December. No dated term calendar is posted, so no term dates are listed here
- DEADLINES DISAGREE (all undated). Korean admission page: the 15th of December, March, June and September for the March, June, September and December terms. English calendar page: the end of February, June, August and November
- The international office page says applications are taken 2 months before each term. Ask the institute for the real deadline before you plan
- CLASS TIMES DISAGREE (undated pages): one page says 09:00 to 13:00 for every level; another says levels 3 and up 09:00 to 13:00 and levels 1 and 2 13:00 to 17:00
- Who can apply (undated admission page): both parents foreign; aged 23 or under for high school graduates aiming at a bachelor's degree, 35 or under for four-year graduates aiming at graduate school; grades of 70% or more
- The same page says some countries are not accepted because of visa issues, and names none. Ask the institute before you apply
- How to apply (undated admission page): online through Study in Korea (studyinkorea.go.kr), searching for Pai Chai. Steps: online application, document review, online interview, result, invoice, payment check, standard admission letter, visa
- D-4 length (2026 application form, as printed): "4 semesters (1 year) application is basic option for your visa approval. However, if you are a student from China and Japan, you can choose between 2 or 4 semesters."
- D-4 (undated visa page): students who study 1 term (10 weeks) or more apply for a D-4, valid 6 months and extendable in Korea
- Attendance (undated fee page): missing 20% or more of class days means no completion and no refund, and can lead to expulsion
- REFUND RULES DISAGREE across the institute's Korean and English pages (all undated). Ask for the refund rule in writing before you pay
- Degree link (Spring 2027 undergraduate guide): P-MOPIK grade 3 or higher meets the undergraduate Korean rule, and institute students and graduates may file a Pai Chai certificate instead of the bank certificate
