What do I need?
- Application form, printed from the JinhakApply site and signed
- Passport copies for you AND both your parents, none expired
- Family relationship or citizenship certificate, showing you and both parents
- Alien registration card, if you hold one. Required if you already live in Korea
- Personal statement and study plan, handwritten or typed
- Certificate of high school graduation, or of expected graduation
- High school transcript for every year
- Proof of English. Global Studies does not ask for TOPIK
- Certificate of financial support
- Bank balance certificate, 16,000,000 won or more
- Consent to the collection and use of your personal information
THE VALIDITY WINDOWS ARE DIFFERENT FOR EACH DOCUMENT and this is what catches people out. Nationality and family certificates: issued within ONE YEAR of 6 November 2026. Graduation certificate and transcript: within SIX MONTHS. Bank balance: within THIRTY DAYS.
The bank balance may be in your name or a parent's. If you or your sponsor live in Korea it must be a Korean bank account, whatever your visa.
Nepalese, Mongolian, Vietnamese and Uzbek applicants have extra rules and lose their place if they are not met. Vietnamese applicants in Korea must use the NH Bank branch on the PNU campus and submit a transaction history by 21 December.
Documents must ARRIVE by the deadline, not be posted by it. PNU says it will not tell you whether yours arrived.
Nothing you send is returned. If your only original cannot be reissued, apostille a certified copy instead.

All requirements
- Completed 12 years of school. Qualification exams, home schooling and distance learning are NOT accepted
- You and both parents are foreign nationals. Korean and dual nationals cannot apply
- TOPIK is not required for Global Studies, but proof of English is, unless you are from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or South Africa
- A bank balance of 16,000,000 won or more, issued within 30 days of 6 November 2026
- Global Studies sets an English essay test and an interview in English
- If you have not graduated yet, send your final certificate by 26 February 2027
- First-semester TOPIK scholarship: Tuition I at TOPIK 4, all of Tuition II at TOPIK 5, both at TOPIK 6, sent by 11 December
