What do I need?
- Application form, printed after you apply on JinhakApply
- Study plan and personal statement, in Korean or English
- Passport copies for you and both parents, and a family relations certificate naming all three
- Alien registration card, if you hold one
- Language certificate, or the waiver letter
- Bank balance certificate and affidavit of financial support, a professor's funding confirmation, or a scholarship certificate
- Bachelor's degree certificate, or expected, and transcripts
- PhD: master's degree certificate, transcripts and a thesis abstract, or a letter explaining a non-thesis degree
DOCUMENTS MUST ARRIVE by 17:00 KST on 6 November. Registered mail and courier count only if they arrive in time.
Certificates and supporting documents must be issued within six months of submitting, notarised and apostilled.
Expected graduates send the final degree certificate by 26 February 2027. The certificate of admission is issued only after it arrives, from 19 January.
The fee is 144,000 and is not refunded. Nothing you send is returned.
Anything not in Korean or English needs a notarised translation into Korean or English. Degree papers also need an apostille or consular verification.
Degrees that can be checked on CHSI (the official online degree check) are sent as CHSI documents. Graduates of Korean universities send originals with no apostille.

All requirements
- You and both parents are foreign nationals by birth. A second track covers marriage migrants naturalised in Korea
- A bachelor's degree, or one due by February 2027, for a master's or integrated programme; a master's for a PhD. Any earlier major may apply
- Your degree must come from a school accredited by your country's education ministry
- Judged on your documents. Engineering departments do not interview; only Design, Fine Arts, Art Culture and Image, and Nursing do
- A bank balance of 16,000,000 won or more, issued on or after 14 September 2026. Your guarantor can be you, a parent, or a PNU professor
- A PNU professor may guarantee only one international student at a time, a Ministry of Justice rule
- Applicants from a list of 4 countries (guide, Note 4) bank with named banks and send a transaction history after admission
- First-semester scholarship: 50% of Tuition II with TOPIK 4 or TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, New TEPS 326 or TOEIC 675, sent by 16 November. PNU graduates get 100% of Tuition II
- From semester two: 50% of Tuition II for a GPA of 3.7 or more, ranked
