What do I need?
- Application form, printed from the JinhakApply site and signed
- Passport copies for you AND both your parents, none expired
- Family relationship or citizenship certificate, showing you and both parents
- Alien registration card, if you hold one. Required if you already live in Korea
- Personal statement and study plan, handwritten or typed
- Certificate of high school graduation, or of expected graduation
- High school transcript for every year
- Proof of Korean: a TOPIK certificate or a PNU Language Education Institute certificate. Other institutes are not accepted
- Certificate of financial support
- Bank balance certificate, 16,000,000 won or more
- Consent to the collection and use of your personal information
- 15th TOPIK iBT test admission slip, if you apply in advance with that exam
- Transcripts must show percentile grades. A student at a Korean high school sends the school record (생활기록부)
THE VALIDITY WINDOWS ARE DIFFERENT FOR EACH DOCUMENT. Nationality and family certificates: issued within ONE YEAR of 6 November 2026. Graduation certificate and transcript: within SIX MONTHS. Bank balance: within THIRTY DAYS.
The bank balance may be in your name or a parent's. If you or your sponsor live in Korea it must be a Korean bank account, whatever your visa.
Applicants from a list of 4 countries (guide, p.12) have extra bank rules: a certificate usually from a bank the guide names (in Korea, the NH Bank branch on the PNU campus), the sum deposited by 18 December and a transaction history by 21 December, 18:00, or they lose their place.
Documents must ARRIVE by the deadline, not be posted by it.
Nothing you send is returned.
Graduation certificates and transcripts need an apostille or Korean consular confirmation, even when they are in Korean or English. Papers in any other language also need a certified translation into Korean or English.
Forms 1 to 4 are printed from PNU's own site after you apply online.
Proof of funds can also be a certificate of money sent into Korea, or of currency exchange (guide, p.12).

All requirements
- You and both parents are foreign nationals. Korean and dual nationals cannot apply, and any Korean nationality must be given up before the deadline
- You finish high school by February 2027. Qualification exams, home schooling and distance learning are NOT accepted
- Many Engineering and College of AI departments also take third-year transfers: 2 or 3 years of college, or 2 years of a 4-year university, with 66 credits or more (guide, p.9)
- MOST CLASSES ARE IN KOREAN. Only Global Studies teaches in English
- Applicants from a list of 4 countries (guide, p.8) need TOPIK 5 or higher, whatever the department asks, and have extra bank rules
- A bank balance of 16,000,000 won or more in your or a parent's name, issued within 30 days of 6 November 2026
- Judged on your documents, with an interview in some departments: in person in Korea, by phone or video from abroad
- At PNU's own Korean institute without TOPIK yet? You can be admitted on condition you complete the level by 29 January 2027
- If you have not graduated yet, send your final certificate by 26 February 2027
- First-semester TOPIK scholarship: Tuition I at TOPIK 4, all of Tuition II at TOPIK 5, both at TOPIK 6. Send the certificate by 11 December
- Electronics and Semiconductor Engineering applicants must interview face to face, not by phone or video
- Computer Science's AI major is run jointly with Kyungpook National University
- Interview places are posted on go.pusan.ac.kr on 30 November 2026 at 10:00. There is no individual notice
- Tuition bill from 28 December 2026 at 10:00; pay 29 to 31 December, in your name with your application number. Unpaid tuition cancels your place
- Took the 15th TOPIK iBT? E-mail the score report as a PDF to iadmission@pusan.ac.kr by 17 November 2026, 18:00
- TOEFL: a test taken by 20 January 2026 is judged on the old 80-point scale and counts until 20 January 2028. A test taken from 21 January 2026 needs band 4 (band 5 for the 4 listed countries) (guide, p.8)
