What do I need?

• Online application Apply
• Scanned photograph
• Passport copy
• Original bank balance certificate, 8,000,000 won or more, in won or dollars. A parent's account needs a family relationship certificate too
• Original final graduation certificate, with an apostille or Korean consular confirmation
• Self-introduction with a study plan, in any format

ORIGINALS GO BY POST to the institute, room 504. Nothing is returned, so if your only original is one sheet, apostille a copy of it instead.

Apostilles and consular confirmations must be issued within six months of applying; the bank certificate within one month.

Insurance is compulsory unless you hold your own: about 120,000 for six months.

Chinese applicants follow a separate list: 70,000 yuan or USD 10,000 frozen for four months, and a CHSI report.

• You finished high school. Foreigners and overseas Koreans can apply
• A D-4 language visa requires you to register for at least two terms at once
• For the D-4: a bank balance of 8,000,000 won or more in your or a parent's name, issued within one month of applying. Already on another visa: 4,000,000 won
• Places are first come, first served, and a term can close early
• African, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Uzbek applicants must email their regional contact BEFORE applying, to ask whether they can
• Tuition includes books and cultural activities. PNU degree students pay 30% less
• To complete a level you need 80% attendance and an average of 70
