What do I need?

- Personal statement and research plan, on POSTECH's form Forms
- CV, in any format
- Passport copies for you and both parents. Without a passport, a notarised national ID or nationality certificate goes by post
- Two recommendation letters on POSTECH's form, emailed directly by each recommender to [email protected]
- BY POST: official transcripts from every university you attended, sealed and signed
- BY POST: degree certificates, or an expected-graduation certificate, apostilled or verified by a Korean consulate
- English score report (ETS sends TOEFL to code 0329), or an official letter with the institution's seal that you were taught in English
- Optional: a list of honours and awards, your degree thesis
PAPERS GO BY POST and must ARRIVE by the deadline, to the Admissions Office, Tae-Joon Park Digital Library #231. Late documents are not reviewed.
Colour copies of an apostille are not accepted, and nothing you send is returned.
The fee is 80,000 won or USD 80 and is not refunded. It is waived automatically for students of POSTECH partner universities.
From Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Palestine, Sudan or Syria? For this second round POSTECH reviews scans first and defers the fee until results.
Mechanical Engineering is not in the guide's programme table, but the department's own notice sends applicants to this round. Check with it before applying.

All requirements
- For a master or the integrated MS-PhD: a bachelor degree, awarded before you enrol
- For a PhD: a master degree, awarded before you enrol
- You and your parents hold foreign citizenship, or you are a Korean national who did all of your education from first grade to a bachelor degree outside Korea
- English: TOEFL PBT 550, TOEFL iBT 79, TOEIC 750, IELTS 6.0, TEPS 600 or new TEPS 327
- A certificate that your degree was taught in English can replace the test
- A degree from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Great Britain, South Africa or the United States exempts you from the test entirely
- Two recommendation letters, on POSTECH's own form, from academic faculty or supervisors
- A personal statement and research plan, on POSTECH's form, plus a CV
- Proof of citizenship for you and both parents
- Each department reviews your documents and may add an online or in-person interview, or a written test
- Admitted once, you cannot apply again to any department that academic year. Rejected, you cannot reapply to the same department, but you may try a different one
