What can I study?
- Nursing (PhD also on the English track)
- Physical Therapy: Physical Therapy; Neurological, Musculoskeletal and Sports Physical Therapy (these three master's only). Licence copy if your bachelor's is in another field
- Pharmacy, 11 fields from Medicinal Chemistry to Social Pharmacy (contact the department first; Pharmacology and Pathophysiology also on the English track)
- Public Health: Public Health, Natural Treatment
- Food and Nutrition: Food and Nutrition, Food Science, Food and Restaurant Industry
- Addiction Science: Addiction Counseling and Rehabilitation, Lifestyle Healthcare (both also on the English track)
Published by Sahmyook University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form (written online); self-introduction and study plan, both on the school forms
- Graduation (or expected) certificate and transcript: the bachelor's ones for a master's course, the master's ones for a PhD, with a consular confirmation or an apostille. A degree from China needs the report from chsi.com.cn
- Language proof for your track: the TOPIK report, or the English score report or proof that English is your mother tongue or the language of your degree
- Passport copy; alien registration card copy if you live in Korea
- Nationality and family relationship papers showing the nationality of you and each parent. Chinese nationals: a notarised translation of the household register, plus a notarised kinship certificate if the family is on separate registers
- The same list for Chinese nationals adds a death or divorce certificate if a parent has died or the parents have divorced
- Bank balance certificate in your or a parent's name: US $20,000 or more, or 20,000,000 won or more
- Tuberculosis test result in English or Korean, required even where the visa does not need it
- Theology: one recommendation letter. The documents table asks for it from the head of an institution of the school's denomination (conference president) if you are a pastor, or from the pastor of your church if you are a lay member
- By department: Theology PhD thesis or research plan and language score; Physical Therapy licence copy if your bachelor's is in another field; Integrated Arts portfolio (optional)
- Integrated Arts portfolio: 3 copies for the examiners on the interview day, or on a USB if you interview online from abroad. The guide adds in brackets "PhD applicants only" (박사 지원생만 제출)
THE BANK BALANCE IS US $20,000 OR MORE, OR 20,000,000 WON OR MORE, as printed, in your or a parent's name, sent with the application. If you live in Korea it must come from a Korean bank.
With no certificate in your or a parent's name, a supervising professor's financial guarantee can stand in at application. For the student visa you must still give your or a parent's certificate to a Korean mission or immigration office.
Application fee 80,000 won; Music and Integrated Arts 100,000 won.
Entrance fee 835,000 won, charged once and separate from tuition. Graduates of Sahmyook's own undergraduate school pay no entrance fee (Korean guide; the English version words the waiver differently).
Tuition is the 2027 table in the guide, which says it may still change with prices.
Posted papers: the Korean guide does not say that a postmark counts (the English version says it does), so make sure they arrive by 17:00 on the deadline.
The English version adds: prepare two copies of the apostille or Korean consular confirmation, one for the office and one to keep for your visa application.
Regular round: results 10 December 2026 at 10:00 (planned) on the graduate school site; tuition 15 to 21 December; standard admission certificate and dormitory guidance by e-mail 22 to 25 December.
The notice of 1 October 2026 prints a time the guide does not: regular-round tuition is due by 14:00 (Korea time) on 21 December 2026.
Additional round: results 21 January 2027 at 10:00 (planned); tuition 21 to 27 January; standard admission certificate and dormitory guidance 28 January to 2 February.
Dormitory: the graduate guide prints older rates. The dormitory office notice of 7 July 2026 gives the current ones per semester, no meals: single 2,358,000 won; double 1,304,000 or 1,070,000 (Zion); triple 889,000; four-person 725,000.
Add a 10,000 won student council fee and a 100,000 won first-entry fee to each dormitory figure (both guides).
Graduate School Office hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:30, Friday 08:30 to 15:00, no enquiries 12:00 to 13:00. The guide prints no phone; the admissions site footer and the graduate school admissions page list +82-2-3399-3016.

All requirements
- One of two, as printed: (1) a foreigner whose parents are both foreign nationals, holding or about to receive a bachelor's and master's degree
- or (2) an overseas Korean or a foreigner who did all 16 or more years of schooling, from elementary school to university, abroad, and holds or will hold the degree
- KOREAN TRACK (every course runs on it): TOPIK 3 or higher; TOPIK 2 or higher in the arts and physical education departments. No substitute for TOPIK is printed
- Selection: documents 100 points and an oral exam 100. Music adds a practical test worth 200; the Physical Therapy PhD adds a written exam in the major worth 200
- Music practical test: the guide prints the set pieces for each field and course (p.7). If you live abroad and interview online, send a video of the pieces on a USB
- An oral average below 60, or two thirds or more of the examiners scoring you below 40, is a fail. Missing the exam is a fail too; bring your ID to the oral exam
- Transfer applicants must contact the graduate school before applying: the notice of 1 October 2026 says the online application site takes new (freshman) applications only
- Convergence Science and Pharmacy applicants must first contact the department and get a supervising professor's approval
- Theology: a recommendation from a pastor or the head of the theology department. Theology PhD applicants also file a thesis or research plan and a language score (TOEFL iBT 80 or an equal score)
- Theology PhD: only holders of an M.Div., a Th.M., or an M.A. in theology, biblical studies or a related field can apply
- Physical Therapy applicants without a physical therapy bachelor's degree send a copy of their licence. Integrated Arts (fine arts and design, art and technology, opera, dance): a portfolio is optional
- Combined master's and PhD course, as marked in the Korean table: Social Welfare; Nursing; Physical Therapy (that field only); every Pharmacy, Public Health, Food and Nutrition, Environmental Horticulture and Addiction Science field
- Also marked combined: the three AI Convergence fields; Convergence Science (Chemistry, Life Science, Animal Behavior Science); Music except Church Music Accompaniment and Concerto Repertoire Studies
- Also marked combined: Integrated Arts, except the field itself named Integrated Arts. No other department is marked for the combined course
- Combined course tuition: the Korean tuition table has no line for it; the English version charges the master's rate in semesters 1 to 3 and the PhD rate in semesters 4 to 8

- Orientation and course registration guidance 15 to 19 February 2027; classes start 2 March 2027 (graduate academic calendar)
- If a department and degree course has 2 or fewer applicants, the selection may be cancelled and the fee can then be refunded. Otherwise the application fee is not returned
- Admitted students must join the National Health Insurance
