What can I study?

Published by Sejong University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form, applicant checklist, qualification review request and academic verification consent
• Passport copy (and alien registration card if you have one)
• Language score within two years, verifiable online, or the Sejong Language Center certificate and transcript
• High school graduation or expected graduation certificate, verified (CHSI for China; apostille or consular confirmation elsewhere) and the transcripts
• Study plan, in Korean for the Korean track and English for the English track
• Both parents' passports or ID and a parent-child relationship document
• Arts and Creative Studies: portfolio as a link on YouTube, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or Vimeo
• Optional: national exam score, recommendation letters

UPLOAD EVERYTHING ONLINE when you apply. Originals go by post only from admitted students in the registration window; no hand delivery, no cash-on-delivery parcels.

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON, USD 16,000 OR RMB 110,000 in YOUR OWN name (a parent only when unavoidable), issued within 30 days of the visa request, frozen past the semester start; Chinese certificates from Bank of China, ICBC, CCB or ABC only. Admitted students only.

Application fee 150,000 won, refunded only if you cancel on My Page before the deadline. Pay by virtual account or Flywire; a shortfall from bank charges counts as unpaid.

Dormitory: about 255 places for international students, applications every January and July, about 1,600,000 won for six months; the dormitory page prints 1,506,800 to 2,034,800 a semester by building.

All requirements

• You are not Korean and BOTH parents are not Korean. Naturalised foreigners and Korean dual nationals cannot apply
• You finished (or will) primary and secondary school, 12 years in total across countries. Language or prep courses, online or adult courses, an equivalency exam, a GED, China's self-study exam and homeschooling do NOT count
• KOREAN TRACK: none for Global Liberal Studies; TOPIK 2 for Creative Studies, arts, PE and Entertainment and Content; TOPIK 4 for Korean Language and Literature, Media and Communication, Business Administration; TOPIK 3 for the rest
• Instead of TOPIK: KIIP stage 2, 3 or 4 (pre-test 41, 61, 81) or Sejong Institute beginner 2, intermediate 1 or 2 count as TOPIK 2, 3 or 4; or two terms at the Sejong Language Center to the matching level; or the prep course
• ENGLISH TRACK: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 3.5 (old scale 59) or New TEPS 202. Nationals of English-speaking countries may show schooling instead; everyone else needs a score even after English-medium school
• TOPIK 2 admits must finish 300 hours of Korean, KIIP or a Sejong Institute course within a year. Korean-track students need TOPIK 4 to graduate (3 for creative studies, arts, PE and entertainment)
• The university issues admission papers for the D-2 visa only; admission is cancelled if the D-2 is refused. Some nationalities are interviewed on their purpose of study
• Transfers: two years at a four-year university or a two- or three-year college degree; TOPIK 4 (3 for creative studies and arts) or the English score
