What do I need?
- Application form (online) and the school's own forms (지원양식): 서식 1 서약서, 서식 2 학력조회 동의서, 서식 3 자기소개서 and, for Chinese secondary vocational schools, 서식 4 학교정보확인서 (admissions data room)
- Foreign nationality proof: your passport copy and ID copy, your parents' ID copies. Alien registration card, both sides, if you live in Korea
- High school transcript and graduation (or expected) certificate. Outside China, one of: an apostille, or confirmation by a Korean consul or your country's consulate in Korea
- Printed for China: transcript as a notarised translation or with an apostille; schooling as a CHSI report (中国高等教育学生信息网, chsi.com.cn), as the guide sets out
- Family certificate issued by a foreign government: outside China an original birth certificate or family relation certificate; printed for China, a notarised 친족관계증명서 (가족관계증명서)
- English proof, one of: a passport copy or nationality paper of an English mother-tongue or official-language country; or the graduation certificate, transcript or Medium of Instruction Certificate (MOI) of an English-taught high school
- Or a score report (IELTS, CEFR, TOEIC, TOEFL, TOEFL iBT, TOEFL CBT, TOEFL PBT or TEPS (New)) valid on the online application opening day; mother-tongue scores are not accepted
- Chinese secondary vocational schools, as printed (p.12): a local-authority certificate with apostille (online-verifiable), or a school certificate confirmed by the provincial education bureau plus apostille (서식 4)
- Chinese 技工学校 (skilled workers schools), as printed: the mohrss.gov.cn online record plus Korean consular confirmation; other schools, a school certificate with apostille plus a copy of the founding licence
- Printed with that table and on 서식 4: in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Tianjin the education bureau's official name is 교육위원회; a non-diploma course (비학력과정) at those schools cannot get a student visa
- TRANSFERS (transfer guide p.9): the previous university's transcript and graduation (or expected) certificate instead of the high school papers, verified the same way (apostille or consular confirmation; for China, CHSI)
BANK BALANCE, in your own name: KRW 20,000,000 or more for a new visa issued abroad; KRW 10,000,000 or more for other cases (moving up within the school, extension of stay, change of status). File it in the registration period.
If you cannot show your own balance: a parent's bank certificate. The guarantor must be a parent; a brother or sister is accepted only when there are no parents. Filed to 국제처 국제교류팀 (+82-31-870-3758) or 국제대학 교학팀 (+82-31-870-3870).
A bank paper not filed within the registration period can mean no visa (guide p.12); more papers may be asked. Students already in Korea have their extension or change-of-status papers checked by the office instead.
Application fee 95,000 won in total, as printed: 전형료 90,000 won plus the online filing fee of 5,000 won paid by the applicant. No waiver is printed. Once filed, the application cannot be withdrawn.
Self-introduction (서식 3): two questions of about 500 characters each: the hardest high school subject and how you overcame it; why you chose the major and what you have done for it.
Fee refund only for force majeure (natural disaster, illness) after review with proof; personal reasons are not refunded. You choose a visit or a bank transfer for any refund on the form; transfer costs are deducted, and nothing is paid back if they equal or exceed it.
TUITION IS NOT PRINTED in this guide, and no page of the school's site prints international undergraduate tuition or an entrance fee. Ask the admissions office (+82-31-870-3211) before you budget.
Originals as a rule. Apostilled or consular-confirmed schooling papers must arrive by the document deadline; a copy first is allowed only after contacting the office, with the original later.
Dormitory (the dormitory office's own 2026 second-semester notices): Uijeongbu Carmel 1, 2-person room, a semester (115 days) 1,008,550 won plus a 50,000 won deposit, printed total 1,058,550.
Carmel 1 for 6 months (177 days): total 1,549,670 won (8,770 won a day). Dongducheon Carmel 3, 3-person room, 6 months (177 days) only: 1,197,000 won plus a 50,000 won deposit, printed total 1,247,000 (7,000 won a day).
No meals in either hall. The 2027 guide prints lower 6-month totals marked "기준: 2026년" (Carmel 1 1,520,600; Carmel 3 1,223,915). Both halls ask a dormitory health certificate (TB chest X-ray and hepatitis B) at move-in.
The guide alone prints Carmel 2 (Uijeongbu, women only, 4-person room): 1,200,000 won for 1 year or 700,000 won for 6 months, no deposit. Fees change yearly; if halls are full you may be sent to outside housing.

All requirements
- NATIONALITY: you and BOTH parents are foreign nationals (순수외국인). Anyone with dual nationality including Korean, applicant or parent, cannot apply
- If you or your parents took a foreign nationality or gave up Korean nationality: all of you must have done so before you entered high school
- Naturalised Koreans who hold Korean nationality on the application start date, and their children, cannot apply as 순수외국인 (you and both parents foreign)
- If a parent remarried a Korean national, that Korean spouse's 가족관계증명서 is required. Unclear family facts (divorce, remarriage, death, missing, adoption) may bring a request for the matching certificates
- Printed for China: "중국 – 친족관계증명서(번역공증본) 또는 변동사항이 반영된 최신의 호구부 공증본 제출" (a notarised translated kinship certificate, or the latest notarised hukou with changes)
- The admissions fairness committee (입학전형공정관리위원회) may ask for more papers and rule on eligibility case by case
- SELECTION: documents 100%, all departments; the self-introduction is marked pass or fail; no documents, no admission. Applicants who attended a Korean high school fail if their school record lists school violence
- Apply online at jinhakapply.com, then post (registered) or hand in the papers at the admissions office, Ebenezer Hall 1st floor, 95 Hoam-ro, Uijeongbu, with the mailing cover printed from the application site
- After registration the 국제처 issues the 표준입학허가서 (standard admission letter); applicants abroad take it with the bank certificate and schooling papers to the Korean consulate for the visa
- Departments, places and methods may change before the semester (cover note); each unit selects "a suitable number" (적정인원), no quota is printed. Class start date not printed
- The transfer guide (separate PDF, same rounds and fee) admits year 2, 3 or 4 in the 일반대학 and year 3 or 4 in the 국제대학; a 2 or 3 year junior college counts only with a diploma
- TRANSFER YEARS (transfer guide p.5 and p.6): year 2 after at least 1 year (2 semesters) at a 4-year university with all credits of that year; year 3 after at least 2 years (4 semesters) with all credits of those years
- Year 4: graduates (or expected graduates) of a 3-year college, into the same field (일반대학) or a similar field (국제대학). Credits are recognised case by case, and the credit review can still bar entry
- Transfer applicants who do not finish (complete or graduate) at their previous school lose the admission. Registration closes 16:00 on its last day; not registering in time cancels the admission
- Admission is cancelled, before or after entry, for applicants who do not meet the requirements, file forged or false papers, or whose papers do not match the school's verification. Schedule changes are e-mailed to your application address
- SCHOOLING (국제대학): graduated, or about to graduate, from a regular high school in Korea or abroad after 12 or more years; a foreign school or an international school in Korea both count. Only the 순수외국인 type applies here
- Shorter school systems: graduates of a country with fewer than 12 school years count as high school graduates (초·중등교육법시행령 제98조); 11 or 12-year systems count if the last 3 years were in that country
- A 국제대학 department may not open if 5 or fewer applicants are admitted to it (guide note; for transfers, 5 or fewer per department and year). Questions: 국제대학 교학팀 +82-31-870-3870
- ENGLISH TRACK (영어강의과정), 글로벌경영학과 only. One of: ① a national of a country where English is the mother tongue or an official language (per the Korean foreign ministry list); ② all of regular high school taught in English
- ③ or an English score valid on the online application opening day (mother-tongue scores not accepted): IELTS 5.5 or higher, or its listed equal: CEFR B2; TOEIC 785 to 820; TOEFL CBT 170 to 210; TOEFL PBT 500 to 547; TEPS (New) 260 to 310
- TOEFL iBT, as printed: 59 to 78 for tests taken up to 20 January 2026 (old scale, valid 2 years, at most to 20 January 2028); 3.5 to 4.0 for tests from 21 January 2026 (new scale)
- No Korean proof is asked for the English track. The guide prints no TOPIK rule for graduation on this track
