What do I need?
- Application form, typed into the online system Apply
- Self-introduction and study plan, up to 4,000 bytes, about 800 English words
- A recommendation from a high school teacher, submitted online by the teacher
- Proof of Korean or English: a test score, a standardised exam with a Korean or English score, or official proof your whole high school course was taught in Korean or English
- High school transcripts for every year, up to the latest term
- High school graduation or expected-graduation certificate, with the date highlighted
- Passport copies for you and both parents
- A document showing your relationship to both parents, such as a birth certificate
- Optional: school-leaving or standardised exam results (A-Level, IB, SAT, Gaokao, Abitur), other language scores, a school profile, up to ten activities
SCANS ONLY TO APPLY. After a preliminary offer the originals go by post, with an apostille or consular confirmation on your school documents.
The 70,000 fee cannot be waived or refunded.
One application per intake. Applying twice disqualifies you.
Admitted students SNU picks for its Korean test sit it in February, and the result can limit which courses you take.

All requirements
- You and both parents hold foreign nationality. If any of you was Korean, it had to be given up before 9 July 2026
- A GED, homeschooling or cyber study is NOT accepted
- Chosen on your documents alone: grades, aptitude for the subject, language and activities. SNU publishes no quota and no applicant numbers
- You finish high school by 28 February 2027
- Ask your college whether it teaches in English: SNU says to check with the college or department directly
