What do I need?
- Online application form, with one ID photo attached Apply
- Copy of your passport information page
- Diploma or graduation certificate from your most recent school
- Front and back of your alien registration card, only if you hold one
- D-4 only: a bank balance certificate of at least USD 10,000 in one savings account, issued within 30 days of the visa application
- D-4 only: an apostille or Korean consular certification on your graduation certificate, issued within six months of applying
- D-4 only, from the listed countries: a personal guarantee form from a Korean national, with proof of employment, notarised
SCANS FIRST. D-4 applicants upload scans; after acceptance KLEC asks for the originals by express post, and nothing goes further until it has checked them.
A parent's account needs a family or birth certificate with it. Stocks, bonds and equity statements are not accepted.
Originals are kept for good and never returned, so KLEC suggests an apostille on a certified copy of your diploma.
The 100,000 won application fee is for new students only and is not refunded.

All requirements

- Originals of the bank statement, the graduation certificate and the apostille or Korean consular certification are evaluated before the application goes further
- Regular-course students cannot get a KLEC dormitory room. Only summer special course students can
- Sogang says the reason for a rejection is not disclosed
- Completing level 3 or above qualifies you to apply to Sogang's undergraduate programmes on language, with 25% off your first semester there
