Published by Soongsil University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application printout, study plan (form 2-2) and the release-of-information form (form 3)
- PhD: a recommendation letter (form 1-2), sealed or sent from the professor's institutional e-mail
- Degree certificates and transcripts with GPA and percentile, verified: Korean originals; China notarised plus CHSI; elsewhere notarised plus apostille or Korean consulate confirmation. PhD applicants file both degrees
- Family relation certificate (China: notarised hukou and kinship certificate), ID copies of you and both parents (ARC in Korea, Chinese resident ID), passport copy
- Official language certificate within its validity period
- Bank balance certificate, filed WITH the application
THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON in your or a parent's name, filed with the application; Chinese certificates must hold the balance until 1 April 2027, other banks issue within a month. A Soongsil professor's financial guarantee can replace it.
Application fee 100,000 won by transfer to the university's Woori Bank account (remitter: three letters of your name plus the last four digits of the exam number); bank charges are yours; not refundable after the deadline.
Entrance fee 950,000 won once; foreign-student insurance 67,000 won a semester, refunded on proof of national health insurance. No instalments.

All requirements
- A bachelor's (master's) or a master's (PhD) held or expected by 28 February 2027; you and both parents foreign nationals, no Korean dual nationality
- LANGUAGE, one of: TOPIK 3; TOEFL 530 (iBT 3.5 as printed), IELTS 5.5, TEPS 601 or New TEPS 327; a school or university degree from a country whose only official language is English; or a confirmation letter from the department head
- Korean Language and Literature takes TOPIK holders only; IT Policy and Management needs TOPIK 5; Project Management is closed to foreigners. TOPIK 4 is needed to graduate
- Selection is a document review plus an oral evaluation out of 200 points, per department; a department may add its own test
- No transfer admission for international applicants in this round. Current Soongsil graduate students and dual enrolments cannot apply
- Not recruiting in Spring 2027: Japanese Language and Literature, Korean Studies, ICT Convergence, Convergence Software, Defense Industry Policy
- Full refund of tuition and entrance fee if you withdraw in writing by 24 February 2027; after 1 March only part of the tuition
