What can I study?
- Film Arts (freshmen only, rounds 1 and 2 only; 40% documents, 60% interview)
Published by Soongsil University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Exam slip printed after the online application
- Language proof: TOPIK, the centre's completion certificate (within two years), King Sejong Institute certificate, or the Soongsil Korean test result
- High school graduation (or expected graduation) certificate, verified: CHSI report for China (or via the Seoul Confucius Academy), apostille or Korean consulate confirmation elsewhere, online-verifiable certificate in Korea
- Full transcript (Korean schools: the school life record II). Transfers add the university enrolment or completion certificate and transcript
- Family relation certificate (China: notarised hukou or kinship certificate; elsewhere a government family or birth certificate)
- Both parents' passport copies or notarised national ID; proof of gaining foreign nationality and losing Korean nationality if that applies
- Your passport copy, and your alien registration card if you live in Korea
- Film Arts: a five-minute self-introduction video as a YouTube or Vimeo link
THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON (10,000,000 if you move from a Soongsil centre D-4 to a D-2), in your or a parent's name, issued within 30 days, filed between 4 January and 22 February 2027 after tuition. Only D-2 applicants; other long-stay visa holders file their ARC instead.
Country rules: Chinese deposits need at least 30 days of freeze left; Uzbek applicants show USD 20,000 held 30 days or more at KDB Bank. Applicants already in Korea show a Korean-bank certificate in their own name.
Application fee 90,000 won (Film Arts applicants who also apply to the general track pay 40,000 more). Not refundable, no edits after payment.
Dormitory: two-person room in the Residence Hall about 1,400,000 won for a 16-week semester (2,100,000 for 25 weeks); Sewon Villa, women only, about 1,650,000 for 16 weeks. National health insurance is automatic after alien registration.
The Certificate of Admission is issued from 15 January (rounds 1 and 2) or 3 February 2027 (round 3), only after the bank certificate arrives.

All requirements
- You and BOTH parents are foreign nationals on the day applications open. Former Koreans count only if the whole family changed nationality before high school; Korean dual nationals cannot apply
- You finished (or will) the full equivalent of Korean primary, middle and high school in a regular school. Homeschooling, online schooling, lifelong-education credentials, a GED and China's self-study exam do NOT count
- KOREAN, one of: TOPIK 3; level 3 completed at the Soongsil Korean Language Education Center; King Sejong Institute intermediate 1 (not online); or 60 out of 100 on Soongsil's own Korean proficiency test (40,000 won, three sittings a year)
- Film Arts needs TOPIK 4, applies in rounds 1 and 2 only, and is judged 40% on documents and 60% on an interview with a five-minute self-introduction video
- No English test replaces Korean at undergraduate level. Every foreign student takes compulsory Korean classes after entry and needs TOPIK 4 to graduate
- Selection for every other department is 100% on documents. A Korean school record with a school-violence entry loses points
- Transfers: a junior college degree, or one year (33 credits) or two years (66 credits) at a Korean university, or the matching share of a foreign degree. Architecture, Computer Science, AI Software and Film Arts take freshmen only
- Japanese applicants whose graduation certificate is issued in March may file the final proof by 23 April 2027
