What can I study?
- Computer Engineering
- Artificial Intelligence Engineering (인공지능공학부)
Published by Sunchon National University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form (form 1 for freshmen, form 2 for transfers) with 3 x 4 cm photos: 2 attached and 2 more
- Freshmen: high school graduation (or expected) certificate and the transcript of all years. Transfers: certificate of enrolment or graduation from the earlier college, and its full transcript with credits and grades by semester
- The ORIGINAL public-body confirmation of your schooling: an apostille, a 학력·학위 등 인정보고서 (the CHSI report for China), or a consular confirmation
- Proof that you and your parents are foreign nationals, showing names, nationality and relation (China: 친족관계증명서 with a notarised translation); extra proof after a divorce or death; issued within 3 months
- Study plan (form 3) and pledge to pay your study costs (form 4), both written in Korean
- Financial guarantee with an original bank balance certificate (see the notes)
- Education verification consent (form 5) and personal data consent (form 7), signed
- Passport copy valid at least 6 months past entry; alien registration card copy (front and back) if you are in Korea
- If you have them: TOPIK report and English test report (dated 22 June 2024 or later in the newest guide); Korean course certificate with grades and attendance by term
THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON (1,600만원) OR MORE, in your own or one parent's name: an original bank certificate in English, or a notarised original. Only a certificate issued after the application start date counts.
A certificate with a printed validity counts until that date. The guarantor is you or a parent. The certificate goes in with the application.
No application fee ("별도 전형료 없음").
TUITION IS NOT IN THE GUIDE. The school's 2026 tuition page is a table for all students; it has its own rows only for the four international-only departments (named in the majors list). Other units show no figure here. The page does not say per semester.
No undergraduate entrance fee is printed: the school's 2026 tuition page has no entrance-fee column for undergraduates.
Tuition is paid at NongHyup (농협) branches or a personal virtual account. Paying from abroad, a shortfall from the exchange rate must be topped up; an overpayment is refunded after classes start.
The admission letter is e-mailed after tuition. Apply for the D-2-2 visa at the Korean consulate. Expected graduates file the final diploma and its verification by the tuition deadline to get the letter.
Dormitory: the degree guides print no fee. The international office dormitory page (undated, 2023 first-semester basis, 16 weeks) says about 1,000,000 won with meals and about 500,000 won without; apartment type, 2 to a room.
The Korean course guide (May 2026) prints 2,200,000 won with meals and 1,000,000 won without for a semester of about 15 weeks, for Korean course trainees. Ask the office which applies to you.
Scholarships are paid as "tuition 1" (수업료1) and "tuition 2" (수업료2). The degree guide prints no split; the school's Korean course guide prints the same awards as about 80% (tuition 2) and about 20% (tuition 1) of tuition.
Every international student joins National Health Insurance; the premium follows the Ministry of Health and Welfare rules.
An objection to the result can be filed within 7 days of the result (form 8, in person or by post).
From the official guide. The school decides what it accepts, not Waegook.
All requirements
- You and both of your parents are foreign nationals. Dual nationals who hold Korean nationality cannot apply
- FRESHMEN: you finished primary, middle and high school in Korea or abroad, or graduate by August 2026 (Fall 2026 guide). School-leaving exams (검정고시), homeschooling and cyber learning are NOT accepted
- TRANSFERS enter year 2 or 3: two years (4 semesters) or more at a four-year university, or a junior college degree. Year-2 transfers need year 1 (2 semesters) done with the required credits
- LANGUAGE, one or more of: TOPIK (or TOPIK IBT) 3 or higher; Sejong Institute (세종학당) Korean beginner 2 or higher; IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550, TOEIC 700 or TOEFL iBT 3.5; or the intermediate level of the school's own Korean course
- TOEFL iBT as printed: 3.5 on the new scale for tests from 21 January 2026; 59 or higher (old scale) for tests taken by 20 January 2026, accepted until 20 January 2028 at most. Scores dated 22 June 2024 or later (newest guide)
- Under the TOPIK line the guide adds: TOPIK 2 holders must take 300 hours or more of Korean within 1 year of entry; and a KIIP (사회통합프로그램) pre-test score of 41 or more, or KIIP level 2
- Selection: documents, then a study plan review and an interview (or practical test) by the unit. Applicants abroad are interviewed by phone or video, except for arts and sport units. An "unsuitable" interview means a fail
- If an interview was already held where you live abroad (현지 면접), the unit's own interview is waived (newest guide)
- Departments for international students only: Korean Teaching as a Foreign Language, Global Business and Creative Studies, International Agriculture and Livestock, Global Energy Science and Engineering
- Closed to international applicants: Nursing, the College of Education, the College of Pharmacy and every Future Convergence department. Places: no limit (outside the quota)
- One unit only: applying twice cancels the admission. No leave of absence in the first semester except for illness. No visa before classes start means the admission is cancelled
- THE FALL 2026 GUIDES ARE THE NEWEST. Both rounds (27 April to 13 May and 22 to 26 June 2026) are closed, and no Spring 2027 guide was on the international or admissions board on 21 October 2026
- Timing hint only: the Spring 2026 guide was posted on 22 October 2025, with applications 3 to 14 November 2025 and an additional round 29 December 2025 to 8 January 2026. These are not Spring 2027 dates
- The admissions office's 2027 "재외국민과 외국인" special admission is a different track; it tells families where the applicant and both parents are foreign to apply through this 순수외국인 track later
