A scholarship below can remove the tuition line.
What can I study?
- Business Administration (Korean-taught)
- Economics
Published by Sungshin Women's University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form and personal information consent, entered on jinhakapply.com; study plan (master's) or research plan (PhD and combined), also entered there
- Bachelor's graduation (or expected) certificate and transcript for the master's and combined courses; master's certificate and transcript for the PhD. The transcript must show the final GPA with its full scale, or a percentage
- Overseas degrees: degree verification consent (school form, with the university seal and your handwritten signature); certificate and transcript with an apostille, or for non-convention countries a consular confirmation
- Passport copy and copies of both parents' home-country ID; alien registration card copy if you hold one; a notarised paper showing your relationship to your parents
- One proof of Korean (TOPIK) or English ability. English mother-tongue route: the original graduation certificate and transcript from that country. Current staff of an overseas university: a notarised certificate of employment
- By field: music applicants a list of performance pieces; art applicants a portfolio uploaded on jinhakapply.com (bring the original on the interview day); psychology applicants who hold an official English score, the score report
- All-schooling-abroad route: graduation certificates and transcripts for primary, middle and high school and university, notarised, with consular confirmation or an apostille; if one cannot be issued, proof that every year was done abroad
- Bank balance certificate, 20,000,000 won or more: admitted students only, during the registration period
THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON OR MORE, in your name or a parent's, filed by admitted students during the registration period (4 to 7 January 2027, scheduled).
Already registered as a foreigner and staying in Korea: only a certificate in your own name from a bank in Korea is accepted, and proof of overseas remittance may be asked for.
Bank rules by country, as printed: China, only an original issued within 30 days of the visa issue (or change) application date; Uzbekistan, only a KDB bank certificate;
Vietnam, a certificate from a Korean financial institution in Vietnam or a designated local bank (Vietinbank, Vietcombank, Agribank, Techcombank).
Application fee: 120,000 won for general fields, Physical Education and Beauty Industry (interdisciplinary programmes included); 130,000 won for art departments; 150,000 won for music departments. The school pays the online handling charge.
The fee is not returned, except that part or all of it may be refunded after review when you cannot sit the test for a reason outside your control (natural disaster, illness, a hospital stay after an accident).
Tuition a semester, FALL 2026 BASIS (may change): humanities and social sciences 4,569,000 won (PhD 4,641,000); science and physical education 5,475,000 (PhD 5,570,000); arts 6,363,000 (PhD 6,431,000). Entrance fee 931,000 won, once.
No tuition column is printed for the combined master's and PhD course, and the fee table has no engineering band. The English guide dates the same figures "2026 Spring"; the Korean guide prevails.
Tuition bands are matched by name: the department list prints divisions (humanities and social, natural sciences, engineering, arts and physical education) and the fee table prints three bands. Confirm your amount with the graduate office.
Still due to graduate? Hand in the graduation certificate within 1 week of the semester start. If you have not graduated by the admission date, the admission is cancelled.
If your transcript shows no GPA or percentage: a confirmation from your university, or failing that an official converted transcript from WES or Scholaro.
Graduates of universities in Korea: the certificate and transcript must carry a document number that lets the school verify the original.
Practical tests in arts fields: the pieces for each music major and for Collaborative Piano are listed on PDF p.8 and p.9 of the guide. Art portfolio: one PDF of 50MB or less (Crafts, master's and combined: 6 or more representative works).
Music Therapy, master's and combined: play the piano or guitar for up to 3 minutes from memory and bring 2 copies of the score for the examiners. Another instrument is allowed if you bring it yourself.
Chinese university degrees: CHSI English verification reports (degree certificate and qualification certificate for graduates; student record with the expected graduation date for expected graduates). No apostille is needed for these.
Family proof for Chinese nationals, as printed: household register (hukou) and family relation certificate, one each.
Dormitory cost is not printed in the graduate guide, and neither is the semester start date.

All requirements
- A foreigner whose parents both hold foreign nationality (holders of Korean nationality as one of two nationalities cannot apply), OR an overseas Korean or foreigner who completed all of primary, middle and high school and university abroad
- Master's and combined master's and PhD course: a bachelor's degree from a regular university in Korea or abroad, held or due in February 2027, or an equal qualification under law. PhD: a master's degree on the same terms
- Graduates of foreign universities can apply only if the university is accredited in its own country
- All classes are taught in Korean in principle, except Business Administration (English track)
- LANGUAGE, one proof with a score report from within 2 years of the application date: TOPIK 3 or higher; or a Korean language department degree from a foreign university; or a degree from a university in Korea; or an English score
- ENGLISH OPTION: TOEFL iBT 80 (tests taken up to 20 January 2026) or TOEFL iBT 4.5 (tests taken from 21 January 2026), or IELTS 5.5, or NEW TEPS 202
- Or: a national of a country where English is the mother tongue who completed higher education there. The 7 countries printed: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa
- EXCEPTIONS TO TOPIK 3 (the guide then requires 300 hours or more of Korean training in the first year): science, engineering, arts and physical education fields accept TOPIK 2 or higher
- Music (voice, instrumental, composition, accompaniment) and Collaborative Piano applicants may file the language confirmation form instead: the interviewing professor must allow it, TOPIK 2 is due within 2 semesters of entry,
- and until then only practical major courses can be taken. Current teaching staff of an overseas university applying to the PhD course do not have to submit TOPIK
- You must reach TOPIK 4 or higher before you graduate
- Selection, general fields and Physical Education and Beauty Industry: document review 50% (100 points), interview and oral test 50% (100 points). Arts fields: documents, interview and a practical test, 33.3% each (100 points each)
- Interview on 7 November 2026 (rooms and times posted on the graduate school site on 5 November 2026; you are not told individually). Be in the waiting room 30 minutes early, with your exam ticket and photo ID such as your passport
- A video interview is possible only for applicants staying abroad or in a special situation, and it must be agreed with the graduate office BEFORE you apply. Music applicants then send their practical test as a video on a USB drive
- The guide lists no closed departments, but a department can cancel admission if applicants fall below the minimum needed to run it
- After coursework, research registration is charged: 10% of that semester's tuition for PhD and combined students, 5% for master's students, for the semesters the guide sets out
- SPRING 2027 OUTSIDE-QUOTA GUIDE (the Korean version prevails), posted 17 September 2026. One round: online 7 to 15 October 2026. Tuition is printed on a Fall 2026 basis and may change
