What do I need?
- Online application form (the institute application page says a personal photo is required); self-introduction and study plan, free form, about 1 A4 page
- Passport copy
- Final school graduation (or expected) certificate, high school or higher, original, with an apostille or a consular confirmation; transcript, high school or higher
- Bank balance certificate, original: 10,000 USD or more
- Listed-country applicants add: parents' employment certificate (business registration if self-employed), a family relationship certificate (notarised translation), ID copies of you and your parents
- Listed-country applicants also add parents' income proof, as the leaflet lists it: an income and finance certificate (3 months of tax, public pension or main-bank records) and pay slips for 1 year
THE BANK BALANCE IS 10,000 USD OR MORE: issued within 30 days of the application, with the deposit frozen for at least 30 days. Whose name it must be in is not printed.
Bank rules by country, as printed: China, issued within 30 days of the issue of the Certificate of Admission; Vietnam, the deposit must be held for 3 months or more.
The institute application page (undated) adds for nationals of the 21 listed countries: every paper must carry a confirmation from the Korean consulate in your country or from the consul at your own country's mission in Korea.
The same page lists a birth certificate next to the family relationship certificate (both with a notarised translation) and asks for an apostille on the transcript as well.
The Korean leaflet prints neither of those two; the English leaflet does list the birth certificate. Ask the office which applies to you.
Fees: 1,600,000 won a term, textbooks and private insurance included. Application fee 80,000 won, paid with the tuition after final admission (the institute page says once, in the first term).
Pay only after the final admission notice, under the English name in your passport; bank charges for sending money from abroad are yours, and if the fee is raised you pay the difference (institute page).
Dormitory (leaflet, a month): two-person room about 400,000 won, four-person room about 350,000 won, management fee 70,000 won. Within a 10-minute walk of the Soojung campus, with separate halls for men and women. Fees may change.
The institute dormitory page (headed "as of 2025") prints other figures: single room 680,000 won a month, two-person room 400,000, and a 50,000 won management fee once at move-in. The leaflet (January 2026) is newer.
