What do I need?

• Application form with consent, a self-introduction and study plan in Korean, passport copy and three photos
• Overseas applicants: TB test with chest X-ray from an embassy-designated hospital
• Both parents' IDs or passports and the original family relationship certificate (China: hukou)
• High school graduation certificate, original, apostilled or consul-confirmed (CHSI for China), and the original transcript
• Bank balance certificate, original; overseas applicants add an employment or career certificate and an income certificate of the applicant or guarantor

THE BANK BALANCE IS USD 10,000 OR MORE in your or a parent's name (parents are the only guarantors), issued within 30 days of the visa application (six months if it carries a validity period).

Application fee 50,000 won on the tuition invoice, not refundable; insurance 100,000 won for six months; textbooks extra.

Dormitory about 1,900,000 won for six months: three-person room 1,200,000 plus two meals a day 700,000; optional.

The English Global Education Center web page still says agencies only, USD 9,000 and older fees; the Winter 2026 guide (direct application, USD 10,000) is newer and is used here.

All requirements

• You and both parents foreign nationals; high school graduate (or expected) at Korean level; nothing that would bar a D-4-1 visa
• Selection: documents 50 points plus an interview 50 points (recorded video or live Zoom)
• Apply about two and a half months before the term (Winter 2026: 15 to 30 September; results 12 October; tuition 14 to 16 October). The Spring 2027 guide is not out yet; the 2026 pattern was a December application for March
• You apply for the D-4 visa yourself at a Korean embassy after admission; nationals of deposit-scheme countries should allow a month or more
• The COA comes only after full tuition. Group insurance covers the first six months, then national health insurance
• Vietnamese applicants may use the study-expense deposit system
