What do I need?
- Application form, from the study-in-korea portal Portal
- Personal statement and study plan, written straight into the online system
- High school transcript for the last three years, or two where your country runs a two-year system
- High school diploma, or a certificate of expected graduation with the principal's seal
- English test report: TOEFL (code 8807), IELTS, TEPS or TOEIC, from the last two years
- Copy of your passport or national ID showing your nationality
- Copies of both parents' passports, or documents showing their nationalities
- A document proving the parent and child relationship
- Optional: up to five high school awards, exam certificates, IB, A-Level, SAT or ACT scores, TOPIK, a school profile
EVERYTHING IS UPLOADED, as two PDFs: one for the required documents, one for the optional ones. The document window is the same as the application window.
No English test if you are from the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland.
The apostilled originals come later, and only if you are admitted.
The 50,000 fee covers the document screening. There is no separate interview fee, and it cannot be waived or refunded.

All requirements
- Both you and your parents hold foreign citizenship, or you did all your schooling outside Korea at a level equivalent to the Korean one
- A GED, home schooling or an online or distance programme is NOT recognised
- You choose the Engineering or the Business field when you apply, and declare your major later
- About fifty places. Beyond that quota UNIST may admit more on a non-scholarship track
- If you are admitted you must send an apostilled or legalised high school diploma
- Falsified material means the offer is revoked, at any point
