What do I need?

• Online application on Ulsan's own system, after paying the 70,000 fee
• The screening fee is paid by bank transfer ONLY. No card, no PayPal
• Proof of Korean: TOPIK, or Ulsan's own UOU-TOPIK test, or two consecutive sessions at its language centre finishing level 4 or above
• AFTER ADMISSION: a signed acceptance of the offer
• AFTER ADMISSION: the receipt for your tuition and other fees
• AFTER ADMISSION: financial proof worth 16,000,000 won, a bank balance or a statement of support
• Submit a consent form for collection, use, and provision of personal information.
• Submit a study plan.
• Submit a high school graduation certificate or equivalent.
• Copies of your own and both parents' passports (a citizenship document if someone has no passport)
• Submit a copy of your alien registration card if you have a Korean visa.
• Submit one color photo with a white background.
• Submit a TOPIK score report if you are submitting TOPIK scores.
• Submit your TOPIK test admission ticket if you plan to take TOPIK.
• Submit a University of Ulsan Korean Language Education Center enrollment certificate if you expect to complete level 4 or higher.
• Submit an original, government-certified high school graduation certificate.
• Submit a notarized high school transcript.
• Submit notarized proof of your parents' nationality and family relationship.
• Submit a notarized certificate of your parents' divorce or death, if applicable.
• Receipt for the 70,000 won screening fee

SPRING 2027 DATES ARE NOT PUBLISHED. Ulsan's newest guide is for Fall 2026, whose applications ran from 20 April to 6 May 2026.

THE 16,000,000 IS NOT ALWAYS REQUIRED. Ulsan asks for it "only from those it applies to", and makes it COMPULSORY for nationals of the 26 countries designated in Korean law. Check whether yours is one before you plan around it.

It must be dated within one month of your result, and be in your name or a parent's.

Miss the deadline for the extra documents and Ulsan fails the application outright, whatever the result said.

Ulsan prices in both currencies at its own rate of 1 USD to 1,460 won.

Extra papers asked for after a conditional offer go by email to undergraduate@mail.ulsan.ac.kr, or in person. Original documents go by post or in person, never by email.

Documents in any other language need a notarised translation.

All requirements

• Applicant and both parents must meet the nationality conditions of the international admission category used.
• The applicant must have completed, or be expected to complete, education equivalent to Korean high school.
• The university states that GED, home-school and cyber-learning qualifications are not recognized as equivalent high-school completion for this route.
• Korean: For Humanities applicants, the university publishes TOPIK Level 3 or higher as one accepted route and also publishes university-specific Korean alternatives, subject to the current admission guide.
• Nationality is judged on the application deadline date.
• If you are enrolled at a domestic university when you apply, you must give up that status by the final registration date after acceptance.
• Only language test scores issued within the past 2 years are accepted.
• GKS scholarship recipients who passed the GKS undergraduate advancement standard are eligible.
• All foreign students must obtain TOPIK Level 4 to graduate.
• Documents are screened, then an interview: in person or by Zoom, depending on where you live
