What do I need?
- The papers differ by nationality and visa status (guide). The list for your case is on the online application page, and the centre answers by e-mail: uosklcp@uos.ac.kr
- D-4 applicants: the centre's admission page (undated) prints three groups of papers, copied here as the page prints them
- Group 'OECD simplified-papers countries (Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, North America, European countries etc.)': photo; passport copy; bank balance certificate; final school diploma or graduation certificate (apostille or consular confirmation)
- Group 'designated countries, and South America and other countries': those four papers, plus the final school transcript with apostille or consular confirmation, and income and employment certificates of you or your parents
- The same group adds family relation papers when the parents' papers are used
- Group 'China (mainland)', 12 items as the page prints them: ID photo; passport copy; ID copies of every family member on the household register; a copy of the household register for the whole family; a notarised family relation certificate;
- final school graduation certificate (expected graduates: the expected-graduation certificate) and transcripts for every year, originals with apostille or consular confirmation;
- university enrolment certificate and all-semester transcripts if it applies, with apostille or consular confirmation; the Ministry of Education verification of the final school, original; a high school grade calculation sheet (optional);
- an original bank deposit certificate: USD 10,000 or more in a fixed deposit of 6 months or more, maturing no earlier than the last day of the term you apply for;
- parents' employment certificate or business proof (self-employed: original tax payment certificate and a business registration copy; employees: employment certificate and a company-stamped business registration copy);
- home ownership or car registration papers (optional). Same group: if you did not apply straight after finishing your last school, add original proof of your study or work from graduation to the application date
- No D-4 needed (another visa valid until the day after the term ends, or one term on a 90-day visa waiver): ID photo, passport copy, alien registration card copy if held, and a copy of the final school graduation certificate; no post needed
- If your diploma exists as a single original, copy it and get the Korean consular confirmation or apostille on the copy (centre page)
THE GUIDE PRINTS NO D-4 BANK BALANCE AMOUNT. The centre's admission page (undated) asks every D-4 group for a bank certificate and prints an amount for one group: China (mainland), USD 10,000 or more, fixed deposit of 6 months or more.
For every other group no amount is printed anywhere: ask the centre (uosklcp@uos.ac.kr) before you prepare the certificate.
Fees: tuition 1,600,000 won a 10-week term plus a 50,000 won registration fee (the English brochure calls it the application fee): 1,650,000 won for one term. The registration fee is paid with the tuition after you pass the document review.
From abroad, tuition is paid through Flywire; inside Korea, by transfer to the centre's Woori Bank account (centre page).
The centre does not tell you whether your post arrived: check that yourself. Until the review is finished your status shows on the online application page and is not e-mailed. Other contact goes to the e-mail you entered (centre page).
A notice of 30 September 2026 confirms the same rate for current students: 1,600,000 won for one term (Winter 2026) or 3,200,000 won for two (Winter 2026 and Spring 2027).

All requirements
- High school graduation or an equal level of schooling
- Four terms a year, 10 weeks and 200 hours each, Monday to Friday, 4 hours a day. Six levels; new students sit a placement test. Classes of 10 to 16
- Class times (guide; they may change): levels 3 to 6 from 09:00 to 12:50, levels 1 and 2 from 14:00 to 17:50. The centre's undated page prints the morning session only
- Three application windows a term: applicants abroad from countries designated by the Minister of Justice, applicants abroad from other countries, and people in Korea on a long-stay visa (6 months or more) who need no change to D-4
- The designated countries, whole list from the centre's notice of 27 March 2026 (21): Ghana, Nigeria, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Iran, Egypt, India, Indonesia, China,
- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines. If your country is on the list, the earlier deadline applies to you
- Apply online at klcp.uos.ac.kr (Admission, then Online application) and upload the papers. The ORIGINAL papers must then reach the centre office by post inside your window. Document review takes about 2 to 3 weeks (centre page)
- Attendance: at least 160 hours a term. More than 40 hours absent means removal (guide; the centre's undated page says no promotion to the next level). Missing the first week without notice can cancel your registration and visa
- D-4 at first registration (guide, PDF p.49): applicants who hold the nationality of a designated country (the 21 listed above) pay 1 year (4 terms) of tuition up front; students from China pay 6 months (2 terms) or more
- If you give up the course partway, tuition for the remaining period can be refunded; the guide sends you to the centre website for the refund rules
- Refund table on the centre's course page (undated): before the term starts or if the visa is refused, all tuition except the entrance fee; before one third of a month's class hours, two thirds of that month's tuition plus all later months;
- before half of the month's class hours, half of that month's tuition plus all later months; after half, no refund
- The centre's admission page (undated) says every D-4 applicant applies for at least 2 terms and some countries 4, and that the standard admission letter is issued after the payment is confirmed (a week or more)
- Tuition covers group insurance, field trips and culture activities (at least one a term). Textbooks are bought separately after class placement
- Centre scholarships, paid at the next registration: 100% of tuition for the best student in each of levels 3, 4 and 5 (3 in total; 3 terms or more with 90% attendance and a 90-point average for 3 terms in a row; once per person)
- 50% of tuition for 6 students moving up to level 6 after 3 terms or more in a row (half on level 5 grades, half on attendance); 20% for the first-ranked and 10% for the second-ranked student in each class
- Scholarships are paid only into a Korean bank account in your own name (notice of 30 September 2026)
- Degree link: level 3 here meets the Korean rule for University of Seoul freshmen and graduate applicants (level 4 for transfers). Level 3 plus 3 terms in the year before entry can earn a 1,000,000 won degree-entry award, by selection
- The centre helps with alien registration and visa extension by group application (you pay the fees). The campus library and health centre are free to use
- A separate 2-week short course runs each August (2027: 6 to 20 August; apply and pay 10 May to 4 June 2027; tuition 1,250,000 won plus a 50,000 won registration fee). It gives no D-4 visa and no standard admission letter
- Short course dormitory (guide, PDF p.53): a two-person room at 22,000 won a day on 2026 rates (352,000 won for the 2026 course, planned; it may rise a little). The 2027 dormitory schedule is fixed after the end of 2026
- Dormitory entry (notice of 22 July 2026): for a stay of 1 month or more hand in a passport, a tuberculosis test result from the last 6 months and a measles vaccination certificate (2 doses). The regular course has no printed dormitory fee
