What can I study?

Published by Chung-Ang University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form from uwayapply and the Chung-Ang study plan form
• Bachelor's graduation (or expected) certificate; master's certificate for a PhD; CHSI verification for Chinese degrees; Degree Verification Form for other overseas universities
• University transcript, original and copy, with a CGPA or percentage (WES or Scholaro conversion if it has none)
• Government proof of the parent-child relationship issued within three months, and ID copies of you and both parents
• Two recommendation letters for a PhD; medicine needs a letter from the Chung-Ang department head
• Research achievement list with the outputs, for a PhD
• Passport copy, alien registration card copy if held, valid language score
• Portfolio for the departments that ask for one

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON (16,000 USD, 110,000 CNY, 380,000,000 VND in the Fall 2026 guide), asked from admitted students for the Certificate of Admission, issued within 30 days of the visa request. Exempt if a university or government pays all your costs.

Application fee 100,000 won; 130,000 for music, Korean music and dance with a practical. No refund.

Full refund of tuition and entrance fee before the semester starts; no entrance-fee refund after.

All requirements

• You and both parents hold no Korean nationality (a naturalised person only if it happened before elementary school), or you did all 16 years of schooling abroad. Dual nationals cannot apply
• A bachelor's for a master's or integrated course, a master's for a PhD, in any field. Chinese self-study exams and GED-type degrees are not recognised
• KOREAN: TOPIK 3 (IBT counts). Sport Science and Dance accept TOPIK 2, with 300 hours at the Chung-Ang institute to be taken within a year of entry
• ENGLISH instead, only in natural sciences, engineering, medicine and International Logistics: TOEFL iBT 71 (3.5 new scale), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600 or TOEIC 800, or a degree from NZ, US, IE, UK, CA or AU
• Exempt: level 4 finished (or level 5 enrolled) at a certified Korean university institute; a Korean-language major abroad; a Korean bachelor's or master's; Sejong intermediate 2
• TOPIK 4 is needed before the thesis semester, except in natural sciences, engineering and medicine
• Selection: documents 100 plus an in-depth interview 100 (Zoom or phone from abroad); practical departments add a practical test. Below 60 on either is a fail
