What do I need?

• Application form with a photo, typed online
• Personal statement, typed online
• Scholarship application form, only if you apply for one
• Certificate of graduation or expected graduation, and your full high school transcript, with an apostille or Korean consular confirmation
• Language score reports: optional for freshmen, required for International Studies
• Passport copies for you and both parents (Chinese applicants add ID cards)
• Legal proof of your relationship to both parents, such as a birth certificate or family register
• Optional: up to ten extra materials such as SAT, ACT, A-level, IB or Gaokao results and awards
• Music, Art and Design, and Sports applicants send performance materials; Voice applicants audition in person on 24 October 2026

UPLOAD EVERYTHING AS PDF when you apply. The originals go by post or in person only after the preliminary result, 16 to 27 November 2026.

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON, in your name or a parent's, issued on or after 8 January 2027, and it is for the Certificate of Admission after you are admitted, not for the application. Chinese applicants use Bank of China, CCB, ICBC or ABC with the money frozen until 31 March 2027.

The 150,000 won application fee is not refunded.

All requirements

• EWHA ADMITS WOMEN ONLY, at every level in this guide
• You and both parents hold a nationality other than Korean. A Korean dual national cannot apply; a former Korean must have finished giving up the nationality before applications open
• Naturalised? You and both parents must have taken the foreign nationality before you started high school
• You finish high school by 28 February 2027. A GED, an equivalency exam, homeschooling or cyber schooling is NOT accepted
• NO LANGUAGE SCORE TO APPLY, except International Studies, which needs TOEFL iBT 80 (4.0 on the new scale), IELTS 6.0, New TEPS 326 or a high school taught in English
• Every freshman except Nursing and International Studies spends year one in the HOKMA Global Scholars Program: Korean plus foundation courses. TOPIK 3 lets you into your major, TOPIK 4 is needed to graduate
• No quota. You are judged on your documents; some applicants get a phone or video interview
• Chapel attendance is part of graduation, and Korean national health insurance plus private insurance are compulsory while enrolled
