What can I study?

Published by Jeonbuk National University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form, affidavit of financial support and personal-information consent, printed from the online application and signed Apply
• High school diploma, or expected-graduation certificate
• High school transcript
• Apostille or Korean consular verification of your diploma (graduates of Chinese schools: CHSI or CDGDC report)
• Birth or family relationship certificate from your government, and copies of both parents' passports or ID cards
• Language certificate, issued in the last two years
• Copy of your passport, and your residence card if you live in Korea
• Transfer applicants: university diploma or enrolment certificate, transcript and its verification
• Bank balance certificate of 16,000,000 won or more (about USD 13,000), with the application or after admission

YOU APPLY ONLINE, THEN POST THE PAPERS. For fall 2026 they had to arrive a week after the online deadline; scans by email were accepted by then, with originals by 21 August.

SPRING 2027 DATES ARE NOT OUT YET. For spring 2026 the first round ran 22 September to 3 October 2025, the second 5 to 19 November, a third (Namwon campus only) 24 to 31 December.

The fee is 80,000 won. Cancel before the deadline for a full refund; after the application period it is not returned.

BANK BALANCE: 16,000,000 won. In Korea: your own Korean account, issued within 30 days of the visa application (8,000,000 if moving from D-4 to D-2). From abroad: yours or a parent's, issued within 30 days.

All requirements

• You and both parents hold foreign nationality, or you did all of your schooling outside Korea. Dual nationality is not accepted
• A GED, a high school equivalency exam, homeschooling or cyber study is NOT accepted
• Korean track: TOPIK 2, level 4 at a Korean university language centre, or level 2 on Jeonbuk's own test
• WITH ONLY TOPIK 2 you must take two semesters of Jeonbuk's Korean course straight after admission
• You cannot graduate from the Korean track without TOPIK 4
• Judged on your documents (language, 40%) and a department interview (ability 40%, attitude 20%), by phone or video if you are abroad. You need 60 of 100
• Language certificates count only if issued in the last two years
• First-semester scholarship on your language score: all tuition at TOPIK 6 or IELTS 8, half of fee II at TOPIK 5 or IELTS 7.5, as the budget allows below that
• THE ARTS LANGUAGE WAIVER DOES NOT APPLY HERE. Jeonbuk waives the Korean score for other arts majors, but not for Industrial Design or Music
• Send a free-format portfolio with your papers
