What can I study?

Published by Jeonju University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Self-introduction and study plan, written online
• Degree (or expected) certificate and all-year transcript. Korean universities: originals. China: the education ministry's degree verification report (Chinese and English), transcript original (notarised translation if not English or Korean)
• Other universities abroad: degree certificate with Korean consular confirmation or an apostille from the country of the university; transcript original (notarised translation if not English or Korean)
• The guide adds under that line: for China, a degree recognition certificate issued by CSCSE (中国教育部留学服务中心)
• Passport copy. Colour copies of your and your parents' IDs. A notarised family relation certificate showing your parents' details
• Two passport photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background). Alien registration card copy, front and back, if you live in Korea
• Language report: TOPIK 3 or higher (Korean track), or TOEFL IBT 59, IELTS 5.5 or New TEPS 202 (English track), obtained within 2 years of the round
• Financial proof, ADMITTED APPLICANTS ONLY, issued within 1 month of the admission date (see notes)

BANK BALANCE, admitted applicants only, as printed: from abroad, USD 13,000 or more in your or a parent's name; in Korea, KRW 16,000,000 or more in your own name. Original, issued within 1 month of the admission date.

Application fee 120,000 won for master's and PhD. Music adds a practical test fee of 20,000 won (the notice words it as 140,000 won for Music). No waiver is printed.

Fee refunds (guide): the overpaid part if you paid too much; the whole fee if you could not sit the selection through the school's fault, a natural disaster, or a hospital stay or death you can prove.

ENTRANCE FEE 650,000 WON, ONCE, on top of tuition. Waived for Jeonju University graduates (expected graduates included).

Tuition figures are 2026 rates; 2027 tuition may rise after the tuition committee decides (guide note). The table prints no period (semester or year); we read the amounts as tuition for one semester.

Dormitory, a semester (16 weeks): StarTower double 1,252,000 won, quad 954,000 won; Star Vill double 869,000 won. Other costs may change. National Health Insurance is compulsory for international students.

Papers must ARRIVE by the deadline; the posting date does not count. Papers are not returned, even after a fail.

All requirements

• You and BOTH parents are foreign nationals
• MASTER'S: a bachelor's from a regular university in Korea or abroad, held or expected by February 2027. PHD: a master's, held or expected by February 2027. Or an equal level recognised by the Minister of Education
• KOREAN TRACK: TOPIK 3 or higher (a valid report). ENGLISH TRACK: TOEFL IBT 59, IELTS 5.5 or New TEPS 202 (TOEFL on the old 0 to 120 scale, as printed)
• English track: native English speakers and citizens of countries with English as a legal official language need no score
• Only score reports obtained within 2 years of each round count (guide). An undated page of the graduate school says 5 years; the dated guide is used here
• Selection: 1) documents (eligibility), 2) interview, in person (a video-call interview for applicants living abroad). Music adds a practical test
• The 2027 restructuring may change the departments; applicants will be told. A bilingual major may close if fewer than 5 apply
• An OIA poster for the general course (1 October 2026) lists only Business Administration and Tourism Management, each with recruiting countries. The graduate guide lists more departments with no country limit: ask the office
• BILINGUAL COURSE (posters only, Spring 2027): Business Administration, Education, Artificial Intelligence, Art Psychotherapy, Design (master's only), Physical Education. Tuition and class language not printed for Spring 2027
• Bilingual-track students must reach TOPIK 4 or complete 200 hours or more of paid Korean classes to graduate
• The guide's cost page also lists Korean classes run by the university (it does not say who must take them): China 1,000,000 won (10 weeks, 100 hours); other countries (Vietnam, Uzbekistan and so on) 1,350,000 won (15 weeks, 200 hours)
• Credits: master's 30 credits without a thesis (4 or 6 semesters) or 24 credits with a thesis (4 semesters); PhD 36 credits (4 semesters); integrated master's and PhD 60 credits (7 semesters). 15-week semesters
• Students from a different field add 9 or more credits of prerequisite courses. Early graduation: up to 3 credits beyond the standard total, at extra cost
• Expected graduates must file the degree certificate within 15 days of the semester start after final admission, or the admission is cancelled
• Apply online at instar.jj.ac.kr/jioa; the form and fee must be complete by the closing time. Missing or incomplete papers mean a fail; false papers cancel the admission even after entry
• Notices and results are posted on the university website only; applicants are not told one by one (guide)
• TUITION, 2026 rates (2027 may rise; the table prints no period, read here as a semester): master's 6,317,000 won; PhD 6,572,000. Entrance fee 650,000 won, once.
