What do I need?
- Application form, study plan and academic record check consent, printed after the online application; PhD applicants: the research record and published papers form, if you have any
- Bachelor's graduation (or expected) certificate and transcript showing the degree date; PhD adds the master's. GPA conversion (4.5 scale or percent) if the transcript shows none. Korean graduates send originals
- Final education verification, original with apostille (bachelor's for a master's or integrated course, master's for a PhD). China: CHSI or CDGDC report, or a Chinese foreign ministry apostille
- Passport copy; ARC copy if registered in Korea; ID copies of you and both parents; notarised family proof (birth certificate AND family relation certificate; Chinese nationals: hukou or kinship certificate, notarised translation)
- Bank balance certificate original, 20,000,000 won or more; language proof if you have it (TOPIK, Korean course attendance, TOEFL or IELTS), originals
THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON OR MORE, original, in your or a parent's name, Korean or overseas bank, issued within 30 days of applying; a fixed-term deposit must end after you enrol.
Admitted students hand in a NEW original bank certificate issued in December 2026 or later.
Application fee 80,000 won by card during the online application, plus a 3,500 won card fee, not refundable. Entrance fee 983,000 won, first semester only.
Tuition a semester (2026 rates, may change with the academic year): engineering 7,090,000 (PhD 7,322,000); science 6,291,000 (6,610,000); humanities and social 5,407,000 (5,701,000). Integrated course rate not printed.
Dormitory: Happiness Dormitory (Bitsoljae), two-person room, 1,889,920 won a semester (about 6 months); bring your own bedding (the English guide says it is provided; the Korean governs). Apply yourself after the notice.

All requirements
- You and both parents are foreign nationals
- A bachelor's (for a master's or integrated course) or a master's (for a PhD), held or expected, from a Korean or foreign university, or legally recognised as equal
- NO LANGUAGE SCORE IS REQUIRED to apply: the guide prints none. Language papers are optional, but TOPIK 3, TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or NEW TEPS 326 raises the scholarship from 30% to 50%
- Every applicant who completes the paperwork is interviewed; applicants abroad may interview by video. Times are posted on grd.kw.ac.kr; document results are not sent
- "English classes" (marked per department below) means only some of the department's classes run in English or mixed Korean and English. International Area Studies also has some classes in Chinese. These may change
- Departments not listed are not recruiting. Some admit only some levels, so check the master's, PhD and integrated marks in each group
- SPRING 2027 GUIDE (Korean prevails). Round 1: 6 to 16 October 2026; round 2: 7 to 11 December 2026. No Fall 2027 guide is posted
- Expected graduates hand in the degree certificate by 12 February 2027 (a provisional certificate first if issue is delayed)
