What can I study?
- Global Business, International Finance (year 2 and 3 transfers)
- International Trade (year 4 transfers)
Published by Kwangwoon University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form, self-introduction and study plan, and academic record check consent, all printed after the online application (originals)
- High school graduation (or expected) certificate and full transcript, notarised copies with apostille. Transfers add the college or university graduation (or completion) certificate and full transcript showing credits, in Korean or English
- Final education verification, original (freshmen: high school; transfers: college or university, plus high school if not yet graduated). China: CHSI report for academic high schools; vocational schools follow a separate table
- Passport copy; ARC copy (front and back) if you live in Korea; ID copies of you and both parents; family proof with apostille (birth or family relation certificate; Chinese nationals: hukou or kinship certificate, notarised translation)
- Bank balance certificate original, 20,000,000 won or more
- Language proof, original. Korean track: TOPIK, or Korean course completion and attendance certificates (required for D-4 holders). English track: TOEFL, IELTS or NEW TEPS report, not needed from native or official English-language countries
THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON OR MORE, in your or a parent's name, filed WITH the application: a Korean bank certificate plus the last 3 months of transactions, or an overseas bank certificate still valid after you enrol.
The office's visa page (undated) asks for 20,000 USD: in your own name at a Korean bank for a D-4 to D-2 change, or yours or a parent's for a new D-2 after leave. The guide's 20,000,000 won is shown here; ask the office.
Application fee 130,000 won (card or bank transfer), not refundable. No entrance fee is printed: the tuition table is one semester of tuition only.
Expected graduates hand in the graduation or completion certificate by 13 January 2027. Orientation in February 2027 (the notice says mid-February); the semester starts 2 March 2027.
Admitted students get tuition-based scholarships automatically: 30 to 80% off the first semester by language level (see Scholarships).
Dormitory: Happiness Dormitory (Bitsoljae), two-person room, 1,889,920 won a semester (about 6 months) including a 100,000 won deposit, current rate; bring your own bedding. The office's dormitory page says the deposit is extra.

All requirements
- You and both parents are foreign nationals. Dual nationals may apply only if neither nationality is Korean
- FRESHMEN: 12 years of regular schooling equal to Korean primary, middle and high school, in Korea or abroad (graduated or expected). The guide says nothing about a GED, homeschooling or equivalency exams
- TRANSFERS: year 2 with a junior college degree or 1 year (25 credits) at a four-year university; year 3 with a junior college degree or 2 years (60 credits); year 4 with a three-year junior college degree (80 credits)
- KOREAN TRACK, one of: TOPIK 3 (TOPIK IBT accepted, the IBT pilot tests not); level 3 finished at the Kwangwoon Korean Language Education Center (formerly KWIIE); level 3 finished at another university's Korean language center
- Without one of these you sit the school's online Korean written test (round 1: 14 October 2026; round 2: 16 December 2026; details on oia.kw.ac.kr 2 days before). A pass meets the requirement
- Test exemptions: TOPIK 3, Kwangwoon Korean course level 4, or King Sejong Institute intermediate 1 (a local overseas institute certificate, not an online one). If you fail the test, you may take conditional admission
- CONDITIONAL ADMISSION (Korean track, documents only, no Korean needed to apply): you study at the Kwangwoon Korean Language Education Center and join the degree the next term after TOPIK 3 or finishing intermediate 2 there
- Conditional admits cannot change to a D-2 visa; admission may be cancelled if you cannot stay legally, and the wait cannot run past 2 years
- ENGLISH TRACK (Semiconductor Systems Engineering only, which recruits only this way): citizen of a country where English is the native or official language, or TOEFL iBT 59, IELTS 5.5, NEW TEPS 202 or CEFR B2
- Selection: Korean track, documents plus the Korean test if needed (no interview is listed); English track, documents only, but a phone or online interview may be held
- Korean-track students must file a TOPIK 4 certificate before graduating. Graduation credits differ by department, so ask the department office
- Limits: Robotics (Information Control and Intelligent Systems) takes year 3 and 4 transfers only; Architecture (5-year) takes March entry only; Big Data Business takes freshmen and year 2 and 3 transfers only
- Global Business and International Finance take year 2 and 3 transfers; International Trade takes year 4 transfers; English Language and Literature takes freshmen only (transfers apply to English Industry)
