What do I need?
- Application form (form 1) with 2 identical photos (3 x 4 cm, white background)
- Degree (or expected) certificate: bachelor's for the master's, master's for the PhD. Degrees from abroad add one of: an apostille, a China degree verification report, or Korean consular confirmation
- Full transcript: bachelor's for master's applicants, master's for PhD applicants
- Language report valid on the deadline, at or above the bar; or the supervisor's study-ability letter (form 2), signed after you contact the department
- Applicants not from China: passport (or an ID that shows nationality, not a driving licence). As printed for China: "본인 및 부모의 신분증 사본"; "본인 및 부모의 여권 사본(지원자는 필수 제출)"
- Family proof issued within 3 months of the deadline. As printed for China: "전 가족 호구부 또는 친족관계증명서" (if the hukous are separate, each hukou and the kinship certificate). Others: see the notes
- Alien registration card copy, front and back (residents in Korea only)
- Study expense pledge (form 3; the sponsor is a parent in principle), 2 bank balance certificates (see the notes) and consent to check your schooling (form 4)
- Nursing applicants only: a copy of the nurse licence
THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE (in KRW terms) in your or your sponsor's name, issued within 30 days before the application deadline and kept until the entry date. Filed with the application, 2 copies.
Moving up from this university's own bachelor's or master's: no ID or family papers (items 5 and 6), and 8,000,000 won in your own account is enough.
Family documents for applicants not from China, the guide's examples as printed: "네팔: 전마달다", "몽골: 친족관계증명서", "미얀마, 인도네시아: 가족관계증명서", "베트남: 호적부(So Ho Khau) 또는 출생증명서(Giay khai sinh)"
Continued: "우즈베키스탄, 우크라이나, 태국 : 출생증명서", "필리핀: Family Census", "※ 상기에 명기되지 않은 국가는 법무부에서 인정하는 위 서류에 상응하는 서류를 제출". The nationality proof must come from a state body.
Application fee 50,000 won (25,000 administration and 25,000 interview), by bank transfer in your own name to the Shinhan Bank account printed in the guide. The interview part is refunded if you miss it for a reason not your fault, or get no interview as ineligible.
Results on the international office site only, with no individual notice; print the tuition bill and admission letter there in the payment window. Unpaid tuition in the window cancels the place.
To give up the place: ID, bank book copy and the refund form (office site, Notice) to the 국제협력처 행정실 in person or by fax +82-61-450-2951 (then phone 2278 to confirm). Full refund before the entry date, then by the school's rules.
Entry chart, as printed: admission letter (표준입학허가서) in about a week. Abroad, "중국 이외의 국가": the letter and a graduate acceptance letter. "중국": the office gets a visa issuance confirmation (about 1 month) and sends you its number.
Abroad, both columns then apply for the D-2 visa at the Korean embassy at home and, after entry, for the alien registration card at the office within 90 days. Already in Korea with a visa: collect the letter, then change or extend your status at the office.
Fails: papers missing or not eligible, no interview, interview under 40%, or false entries. An expected graduate found without the degree loses the admission.
Dormitory, a semester, 2026 first-semester rates (2027 domestic guide): Dorim rooms 741,200 to 1,144,500 won; meals 489,800 to 768,800 won (BTL halls: compulsory meals 675,800). Apply separately after admission (guide checklist). Dormitory +82-61-450-2909.

All requirements
- You and BOTH parents hold foreign nationality ("부모 모두 외국 국적을 가진 순수외국인")
- MASTER'S and integrated: a bachelor's (or expected, earned before entry). PHD: a master's (or expected). Any earlier major for the master's; some PhD units limit the degree type or earlier major
- LANGUAGE (one of): TOPIK 3 or King Sejong intermediate 1; TOEFL iBT 3.5, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, NEW TEPS 202 or an equal score (TOEIC and others); or, with neither, a study-ability letter signed by your future supervisor
- TOEFL iBT taken by 20 January 2026: 59 or more, valid up to 20 January 2028; taken from 21 January 2026: 3.5 or more
- Citizens of a country with English as a native or legal official language need no English test, with proof of secondary or higher schooling (a graduation certificate and so on)
- Selection: a document check (pass or fail) and an interview, 100 points (major ability, background, research plan, attitude). Under 40% fails. Places are not limited
- Interview in a set room in Korea, or by video for applicants abroad (link on the office site or from the department). Agree a video interview with the department in advance; proof may be asked
- One department only; it cannot be changed, and nothing can be edited or withdrawn after you apply. Expected graduates file the diploma and schooling proof before the semester starts, or the admission is cancelled
- University and research institute joint programmes (학·연협동과정) take only applicants recommended by the head of their institute. Partner institutes printed: 농촌진흥청, 한국생산기술연구원, 한국에너지기술연구원, 한국화학연구원
- Continued: 한국생명공학연구원, 한국표준과학연구원, 한국원자력연구원, 한국전자통신연구원. Each partner takes only the departments the guide lists beside it: check the table before you apply
- The guide says some units may change and to check the final list on the online application site (유웨이어플라이, UwayApply) before applying, although papers go in person or by post: ask the office
- TUITION a semester, 2026 second-semester rates (2027 may change), tuition I plus II: humanities and social 423,000 + 1,583,000; sciences and PE 434,000 + 1,966,000; engineering and arts 464,000 + 2,102,000; pharmacy 464,000 + 2,518,000
- ENTRANCE FEE 189,000 won, once, in every band. The table prints no total and no period; the figure shown on each row is our sum of tuition I and tuition II, and the university tuition page bills by semester
- Bands here follow the field headings of the guide's department table; the guide does not list departments under each tuition band
- The university's undated tuition page prints a higher general graduate school tuition II (1,630,000 / 2,024,000 / 2,165,000 / 2,593,000). The dated guide is shown here: ask which applies
- MERGER: Mokpo merged with Jeonnam State University in March 2026 (Damyang campus). Its own site also announces a planned merger with Sunchon National University (target 1 March 2027); no approval notice was found
