What can I study?
- Korean Language and Literature and Korean Language Education
- Japanese Studies
- Division of Police Science and Law: Police Science, Law
- Public Administration
- Psychology and Counseling
- Media and Content Studies
Published by Pai Chai University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form on the school's own form, filled in on UwayApply and printed. The sample forms in the guide say it must be written in Korean. Transfers add the school's academic record consent form
- Freshmen: high school graduation (or expected graduation) certificate and high school transcript, each with an apostille or consular confirmation
- Transfers: completion or graduation (or expected graduation) certificate and transcript from the previous college or university, each with an apostille or consular confirmation
- Schooling in China: a Chinese Ministry of Education academic verification certificate can stand in for the apostille or consular confirmation, and must be added
- Family relation certificate for you and your parents, issued by a government office and notarised. If it cannot show how you are related, add other proof of kinship
- Passport copy. Copies of the alien registration cards of you, your father and your mother, only if you live in Korea and hold them
- Language proof: TOPIK 3 or higher, P-MOPIK grade 3 or higher, or a KIIP pre-test score of 61 or more (TOPIK 2 or higher for natural sciences, engineering, and arts and sport)
- Bank balance certificate, original: 16,000,000 won or more held in your own or a parent's name
- Government scholarship students: the scholarship certificate. The bank certificate is not marked for them
THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE, in your own or a parent's name: an original bank balance certificate, filed with the application papers by each round's document deadline. No issue-date limit is printed.
Current students and graduates of the Pai Chai Korean Language Institute, and exchange students, may hand in a Pai Chai certificate of enrolment or completion instead of the bank certificate.
Application fee 55,000 won (a 50,000 won fee plus a 5,000 won service charge), not returned. Government scholarship students pay nothing.
TUITION IS NOT PRINTED. The international guide gives no tuition and no entrance fee, and the school's site has no tuition table for international students. The school says 2027 rates are set in February 2027. Ask the office.
The only undergraduate tuition table on the site is the general 2026 one in the guide for domestic applicants. It is not an international table, so it is not shown here.
Results: 10 November 2026 (round 1), 8 December 2026 (round 2), 12 January 2027 (round 3). Tuition is paid at any KB Kookmin Bank branch: 12 to 17 November, 10 to 15 December, or 14 to 19 January 2027.
If a paper cannot be issued in your country, a written statement of the reason is accepted. The school may ask for more papers if yours do not settle a fact.

All requirements
- You, your father and your mother are all foreign nationals. You may apply to one department or school only. There is no limit on the number of places
- FRESHMEN: a high school graduate or expected graduate. The guide does not mention a GED or homeschooling
- KOREAN, one of: TOPIK 3 or higher; grade 3 or higher on P-MOPIK, the Pai Chai Korean test run by the university's Korean Language Institute; or a score of 61 or more on the KIIP (social integration programme) pre-test
- LOWER BAR for natural sciences, engineering, and arts and sport units: TOPIK 2 or higher may apply, and must then complete 300 hours or more of Korean training within 1 year of entry
- TRANSFERS follow the same nationality and Korean rules. Year 2: 1 year (2 semesters) or more at a four-year university with the set credits, or a degree (held or expected) from a 2 or 3-year college with the set credits
- Year 3: 2 years (4 semesters) or more at a four-year university with the set credits, or a degree (held or expected) from a 2 or 3-year college. Year 4: a degree (held or expected) from a 3-year college, into the same department only
- Transfers into the School of Art and Webtoon and the School of Design are only for applicants from the same field. The transfer lists differ by year of entry (guide pp.6 to 8), so check that your unit takes your year
- Selection: documents only, with no interview or test. Applicants who meet the rules and whose papers are in order are admitted in principle. Results are told to each applicant individually
- NOT RECRUITING for 2027: Early Childhood Education, Nursing and Architecture. The final list is fixed before the semester starts, and department names and openings can change
- Where admission is by school (hakbu), you choose your major while enrolled, under school rules
- SPRING 2027 GUIDE (Korean, attached to the notice of 8 October 2026; Korean prevails). Three rounds: 21 to 28 October, 23 to 27 November and 21 to 30 December 2026. The schedule can change, so check the admissions notices
- Admitted students must pay tuition inside the set window at a KB Kookmin Bank branch; not paying in time counts as giving up the place. Refunds follow school rules
- Government scholarship (GKS) students have their own route: a selected scholar who finished Korean training in Korea and holds TOPIK 3 or higher, with no application fee. The guide prints 0 in the quota column for this route
- Pai Chai takes GKS undergraduate applicants through the embassy track only; GKS undergraduates need TOPIK 3 to enter and TOPIK 4 to graduate (GKS notice and university overview, September 2026)
- Foreign students are enrolled in National Health Insurance as regional subscribers
