What do I need?

• A printed copy of the application you filled in online, or on the Common App Apply
• The Letter of Consent and Verification, signed PDF
• Transcripts from every high school you attended, apostilled or confirmed by a Korean consulate
• Your graduation or expected-graduation certificate, apostilled or consular-confirmed
• Your proof of English
• Copies of your passport or ID card and one of each parent's
• A notarised birth certificate, or other notarised proof of your relationship to your parents
• The receipt for your application fee
• If you live in Korea: your own and your parents' certificates of alien registration
• Recommended: exam results such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, IB, AP or Gaokao, and a list of honours and activities

EVERYTHING GOES BY POST and must ARRIVE at the UIC office by 17:00 on 2 October 2026. UIC will not extend it.

The fee is 150,000 won direct, or USD 150 through the Common App. UIC offers no waiver and no refund, even if you applied on the wrong track.

If your apostille is late, UIC accepts it after admission, by a date it sets.

The form holds two essays: up to 600 words, and up to 300. Naming a family member or their employer in an essay disqualifies you.

All requirements

• You and both parents are non-Korean. Any Korean dual citizenship among the three of you ends the application
• If you are ethnically Korean, you and both parents took foreign citizenship before you entered high school, and you prove you gave up Korean citizenship
• A Korean adoptee qualifies only with foreign citizenship from before primary school
• You hold, or will hold before you start, a high school diploma. A GED, home schooling or cyber schooling is not a high school diploma here
• FROM THE 2027 INTAKE PROOF OF ENGLISH IS REQUIRED. It was optional until the 2026 intake
• No minimum score. TOEFL, IELTS, a CEFR certificate, IB English A, or AP English all count
• Or a high school diploma from a country where English is the sole official language: the United States, Canada outside Quebec, the United Kingdom, Australia or New Zealand
• Or a medium of instruction certificate if you did the whole curriculum in English. If your school cannot issue one, UIC has its own Letter of Consent and Verification form
• Documents must ARRIVE at the UIC office, not just be posted, by the deadline. UIC says it will not extend it under any circumstances
• Judged on 300 points: 200 for your documents, 100 for an online interview. A missing document means no interview
• Yonsei was founded by missionaries: some Christian courses and chapel are compulsory
